My husband and I came in on a busy Saturday night, and were seated at the long communal table right away. We ordered an appetizer, wine, and two pastas, the Norcina and the Cacio e Pepe. My Norcina pasta was overcooked, salty and had no truffle oil nor porcini mushrooms. They advertise porcini mushrooms, but I got regular white mushrooms. There's a big difference. I had a few bites and called the server to ask to send it back. She asked if I'd like another dish, so I asked for the Arrabiata to-go at this point, as some time had now passed since we were seated. I came home and ate a few bites and found a piece of hair in my mouth full of pasta.
Despite this, I don't like to bash restaurants with poor reviews, so I made it a point to call Farfalla the next day to let them know about my experience. The assistant manager called me back and after hearing about my experience, he made points to say their pasta isn't overcooked as it's fresh pasta, and that it's salty because of the sausage. I told him I've been to Italy and have made pasta in Italy, and know that fresh pasta can totally be made al dente. He didn't even address the hair issue in the Arrabiata, so I mentioned it again. He said that I complain too much and asked what he should do for me. So I told him, "Perhaps you could at least apologize?" I'm not looking for handouts and wanted to let him know about the lack of quality control in the kitchen. He didn't apologize and even dared me to leave my honest opinion online. I am baffled by his rudeness and audacity.
As I made clear to him, I will never be coming back to this restaurant (to which he said "ok, that's fine" repeatedly). Keep in mind I wasn't yelling or anything but kept a calm tone throughout our conversation. Their customer service is shockingly deficient, and their kitchen safety and quality control aren't far behind. I hope this review serves them well...
Read moreThe food is excellent but the service is terrible. The manager allows his servers to be rude and condescending to the customers. The happy hour rules seem to change on a whim depending who you are. Tonight a community happy hour table had a reserved sign for two seats at the end of the table. We sat d.own had water brought to our table and a server yanked our plates, put The reserved sign in front of us telling us that two patrons who supported the restaurant through Covid had the seats reserved. After relocating at the same table a few seats away I was told I couldn’t take my half eaten soup home and that was their happy hour policy. The Tables at the bar for 4 have a reserved sign and cLaim only parties of 3 or 4 are allowed to sit at these tables, however, I have frequently observed parties of two allowed to sit there. A few weeks ago I was told that the restaurant was doing the community a favor by having happy hour. The manager Ned’s to review the policies with the staff while educating them on public relations. I have never not left a tip but the next time I get the rude server he will not get a tip hoping to give him the message that he needs to earn the tip by having courteous and respectful behavior. If there was a way to contact the owner and describe the poorly managed restaurant I would. The only reason I keep frequenting the restaurant a couple times a week is because the quality of food...
Read moreThis one is tough because I had a bad service experience, but they remedied immediately. I walked down to Farfalla Trattoria for my lunch break. The hostess was welcoming and asked if I wanted to be seated inside or outside. It was a beautiful day, so I sat outside. A gentleman came over shortly with a basket of bread and a delicious tomato-based spread of sorts. I looked at the menu while I waited for a server. About 25 minutes passed, so I went inside to make my presence known. One of the servers asked if I needed something, so I told her I had been seated for 25 minutes and no one had come to my table. She apologized immediately and said she thought I had already cashed out with a different server. I asked if I could place my order to go because I needed to go back to work. She said of course and took my order.
She came back to the table and apologized again and explained I was in another server's section. And then said she put a rush on the food order and threw in a free dessert for my trouble. My food was ready not long after. I did tip her.
To review the actual food, delicious! There is always an off day, so I don't think that's a reason for a bad review. I would go back because the atmosphere was lovely and the food great. (Pictured is the yummy bread basket and spread, and the mozzarella e prosciutto panini with caesar salad, and the free...
