NO.1 Chinese Food — Restaurant in Three Rivers

I placed an online order around 4:30. My pick up was for 5:45-6:00. I got there at 5:45 & the place was swamped. There wasn't a real line and seemed all over the place with other customers telling people who walked in the door where to stand. It took me 20 minutes to get to the front of the line. There were at least 4 people in line that had just ordered. When I got to the front, I gave them my order number and they couldn't find it. They picked up a stack of orders and found mine. Asked if that was me, which I confirmed. They stated they were going to make it now & it would be at least a 15 minute wait. From the time I walked in until I got my food at 6:30, all four people who ordered had gotten their food. There were so many online orders waiting who had ordered their food 2 to 3 hours prior & got their food after others that had just ordered. I think it's ridiculous to take online orders, but then they don't make it until you get there. One lady stated she had been waiting over an hour for her pick up, and another stated it was almost 2 hours from their pick up time. Mine was 30-45 minutes. I get they are busy, but come on... make it make sense.

Now for the food. Since I had to wait for them to make my order when I got there, I was like, "Well, at least it will be fresh and hot." It. Was. Not. The food was so bland, my husband spit it out. Absolutely NO FLAVOR! The food was barely warm. I only live 3 minutes away from the restaurant, so the food should not have gotten cold in that short of a drive. Also, the chicken in our fried rice was off looking. I'm not sure if it wasn't cooked all the way or just looked like that due to lack of seasoning. The general tso chicken had something rubbery in it to where I had to spit it out. It didn't even taste like chicken, it literally tasted like breading with sauce. We paid $32-34 for two combos and a few egg rolls. My husband couldn't finish his food past a few bites, and i tried to get mine down but couldn’t. We tried calling in to order for dinner one evening and got only voicemail for a good 30 minutes until we gave up and ordered somewhere else. Also said online ordering was disabled.

We decided to give them another chance for lunch one day and we were able to get ahold of them over the phone. We ordered for pick up.

Food was flavorful and still hot when we got home. Dishes are good portions.

Only concern with our order was with my pregnant girlfriends pork egg roll. The pork inside was still RAW. We took a picture and tossed it out. The crab Rangoon also seemed to only be cream cheese with no crab.

Extremely small place. They have two or three tables for eating in I think, or it’s just a waiting room for take out. Not sure.

We will give them another shot and this review may be updated.

11/2023 update - It has been a month since we ordered last, not much improvement. Crab rangoons should be called cheese rangoons. Some questionable pieces of meat and wondering if some is cooked fully.

Please look carefully at your meats before eating. We have gotten raw pork, what looked like undercooked chicken, and seeing similar complaints in other reviews of this place.

Update 11/2024 We picked up food here a couple more times because we didn’t have any other ideas. We are pleased to see and taste improvement in their food from the beginning of the year. Chose online order. Site is easy to navigate. Order was ready for pick on time. The staff was friendly and quick. The inside is small/quaint. At the moment, the LINE is long and dining in MAY not be a good idea right now -unless you want to people watch and chat it up with the people in line. But once they have been open a while and we people that have been waiting too long for good Chinese food get in to a routine, it will be a nice place to have lunch or just want to see what's up. Only one visit. There were five of us and we each picked something different and got a few other things and we set it up buffet style at home. Everything we got....we all liked. Will eat there...
