Spartan Motel — Hotel in Fabius Township

Honestly this is the worst motel I've ever stayed in. When I checked in the man was very inquisitive about how loud I would be. He then informed me that my room would be next to his room. I agreed to this stupidly. When I got into the room I noticed there was a door in my room that led directly into his and his families room. The light in his room started on fairly late but I needed a place to stay for the week and I already payed. I should've known to turn around when I saw the no refunds sign. I became ill the first night I stayed for to the mold in the bathroom and the awful window unit that hasn't been on in God knows how long. It was freezing in my room due to it being winter in Michigan. The fridge was dirty and there were items in the freezer from the previous guest. Again I stayed because I already payed $350 for the week. Fast forward 3 nights into my stay when I'm awoken at 10pm by loud talking from his room. I work in the am so I desperately need the sleep. I last there in hopes they would find somewhere else to hang out. By 11:15pm I had enough and I checked out. If he tells you he only has one room and it's extra due to it being next to his room RUN! I'm now out $350 and I could only last half my stay. Couldn't take a shower due to the mold. Still have allergies flaring up for to the disgusting condition. STAY AWAY!!!!! This motel took my money saying they would refund me and the reason I left was because this motel is nothing like I’ve seen before it is HORRIBLE! The second I stepped in I was in shock of how disgusting it looked there’s was FLIES and they even leave you a fly swapper to kill flies in the room! Ridiculous! The bed was very flimsy and there was blood staines and yellow stains on the sheets and the shower curtain was all dirty and yellow the whole room stinked! The shower water smelled so bad like metal and the water pressure was extremely hard, I did not feel safe here a lot of drug addicts and smells like smoke. I went back the same day saying I want a refund but they still charged me the night because I didn’t say anything the first 10min of having the keys! Ok so they said they would refund me the rest in 24 hours, which was a lie it has been a week now and I have been calling and today they told me there is nothing they can do it is out of there hands REALLY? I just spent 8 nights at this motel. It was very inexpensive but this is my first encounter with bed bugs. I went to the owner when I first suspected the room had bed bugs, he denied that that was possible but said he would spray the room the next morning. When I returned to the room that evening after work I found that they had not even changed the bedding (weekly rate with no services). When I asked that they do so the owner did and sprayed the mattress with disinfectant. At first I thought this was enough but here I sit now bitten from head to toe and miserable. I called the owner from home to tell him the room is definitely infested with bed bugs (my wife is the Infection Prevention and Control Specialist at a very large long term care facility and knows her stuff) and he was not at all concerned. I will be spending $300.00 to have my vehicle exterminated professionally as I am afraid of bringing bed bugs into our home from the car. I would have been money ahead and not miserable with itchy bites all over me if I had paid the money for nicer motel...
