Ruined date night. I took the wife out for a date night which as a couple with two children and a fairly busy lives doesn't happen very often. The only pictures provided are of the drinks and the free chips and salsa due to the fact that they were the highlight of our meal. First of all let me just say that the service was not the issue and the waitress was tipped appropriately for her services. The food however was, the issue that is. My wife ordered the beef nachos and they and they were just that. They looked like something that I could have put together at home with my microwave, a bag of tortilla chips, some leftover hamburger and some store bought nacho cheese, especially since that is all that was on them well with the exception of the side of sour cream of course. I ordered the fish tacos and they were just that as well. Tortilla wraps with some chunks of fish in them with a side of what I think was coleslaw and some sauce that well lets just say I'm not sure what it was. I had gotten carry out from here before and it wasn't that bad so I'm not sure if they were just having a bad night or if this is the kind of food that they serve people all the time. The only saving grace was that they took my wife's meal off of the bill which was good since she did not eat it and since I've spend half the day in the bathroom already I kind of wish that I hadn't eaten mine either. In hindsight next time I want Mexican food I just think we will go to taco bell. It has the same affect on my bowels however I enjoy...
Read moreSo, I drove past a taco truck on my way here and I should have just ate there. It looked busy and popular. But instead I went to this place. Big mistake.
I'm a fat white guy. So I don't have the heritage, but I have the experience. Still, the customers looked to be Spanish speaking, and that's usually a good sign. So maybe I caught a bad night, or maybe the house specialties are really good. But this was not a good experience.
Beef nachos: greesy and hardly any cheese. Just watery bland hamburger on chips with some queso on it. Didn't finish it.
Still hungry so I got the street tacos. Again, very basic and bland. Even the pork was pretty tasteless. Only bright spot was the hot sauce. But it's probably too hot for most people.
Service was terrible. I sat at the bar, had to ask for everything, never checked in, asked how everything was, etc. Seems to have a cold, so maybe he wasn't feeling well. But maybe he should have stayed home so I wouldn't have to watch him blow his nose without changing gloves.
As I got ready to leave, a guy came up for a new icedtea; the tea was fine, he said, but the glass was dirty.
I think that just...
Read moreThe fajita steak chimichanga was tiny... 6 inches maybe at best. The rice and beans on the side were pathetic...about 9 or 10 small bites. $17 for what should have been around $5. After this and an $8 draft and a 20% tip I paid $34 to eat at the bar. I have never posted a review about a restaurant before but this was a total rip off. Mexican food has always been inexpensive and generous portions were a given in my 55 years of experience in every state and in Mexico. The food was good as far as taste...how could it not be covered in cheese sour cream and guacamole. Very disappointed!!! I guess not only do they jack up the price but reduce the amount of product too. To make ends meet? I am not a cheap patron ever but it sure feels like I was ripped off. I tipped 20% which I do when the service is poor. If they took care of me the bartender would have seen a 50% tip. Thats how I roll because I made my living off tips for 30 years. So unfortunately we all lose in this situation. I will not return, the bartender missed an excellent tip and I got ripped off! A lose lose, lose all around....
