Anna was very rude and unaccommodating as I was attempting to order from the drive-thru on my bike. I waited several minutes in an empty drive-thru without any attempt to help. I had started to give up and started to leave when someone finally said something as I had already rolled away. So, I came back around and said "Sorry, someone started saying something as I was leaving." And then sat for several minutes again (probably a good 10 minutes altogether). While I was waiting, a car came up behind me. After a bit, I told him he could go ahead of me. I figured he'd at least get some help while I waited for someone to do their job. As I was getting out of his way, Anna popped her head out of the window and started yelling at me that I couldn't keep doing this, that I was wasting her time (like they were wasting mine?) I told her I was just trying to order and she told me to go in. I told her I couldn't leave my bike (I don't want to leave it anywhere for the amount it takes to put in an order and wait for it to be made as I haven't gotten a bike lock yet.) She popped back in and closed the window and that was the last of it. I know Portland's drive-thru zoning law only requires the accommodation when entrances are closed, but didn't have to be rude about it. I've worked in the customer service industry for the past 6 years, and she ranks in the top 5 for worst attitude. Needless to say, I just went to McDonald's instead and sat in their busy drive-thru for 20 minutes and got my food with no problem (other than I apparently ordered one of the sandwiches that takes the longest to be made). I wouldn't have even bothered to get fast food as we have food at home, but our microwave died last night and is now a fire hazard. I will definitely be telling my coworkers and others in the area to watch...
Read moreUnfortunately will likely be my last trip to a Carl's Jr. To begin, my wife & I had numerous issues with using the app, it is a horrible experience (I've posted a separate review to google play).
After putting in our orders with the staff (they were nice), we received our food fairly quickly. We sat down, unpacked our food and everything seemed to be in order with exception of the super star burger I ordered. It had a single patty on it. After bringing it to the staff's attention, they boxed up another patty and handed it to me, a bit unorthodox instead of remaking the burger, but that's ok. This other patty didn't have cheese on it, which might sound like a minor inconvenience, but the price of food nowadays is expensive, so I'd like to get every condiment I ordered. At this point, though, I just wanted to eat and be on my way, so I didn't bother asking for further assistance.
Nonetheless, as for the food quality, the regular fries are ok, a bit subpar to other fast food places, but they're fine. The waffle fries are great, along with the chicken tenders, they were the best items we had. As for the burgers, they were good with the exceptions of the buns, my super star burger's buns were just subpar in general, possibly old. My wife's sourdough burger's buns were fairly soft and mushy, unlike what we'd expect with a sourdough bun (crisp).
Overall, after not having gone to Carl's Jr for a few years, I'm sad to say that I will likely not return anytime soon with the experience i had. The cost definitely doesn't...
Read moreThe neon lights of Carl's Jr on Scholls Ferry Rd in Beaverton, beckoned to me like a siren song. It had been a while since I had visited, but the memories of the burgers, juicy and cooked to perfection, still lingered in my mind. As I walked through the doors, the smell of grilled beef and freshly fried fries hit me like a wave of nostalgia. The restaurant was as I remembered it, the red and white color scheme, the friendly staff, and the mouth-watering menu. I took my seat at the counter, and as I waited for my order, I couldn't help but feel a sense of dread. I had heard rumors of a curse on this location, a burger so delicious it would drive men mad. I shook off the thought and focused on my meal, biting into the burger and feeling the juice run down my chin. The flavors exploded in my mouth, the beef, the cheese, the special sauce. It was worth the risk. I finished my meal and left, feeling satisfied, but also a little uneasy. Was it just the burger or was there something more sinister at play? I couldn't help but wonder as I drove away from Carl's Jr on Scholls Ferry Rd. But one thing was for sure, the burger...
