Hops on Tap is one of my favorite places. The owners are awesome and really friendly. They are happy to recommended from their large rotating tap selection and provide many tasters as you decide what to drink. Even with indoor seating currently not an option, their patio is open for outdoor seating or you can mask up and order from the bar to go. I recently filled a growler and was still able to sample from the bar before deciding and chat with the owners getting recommendations.
When indoor seating was available, this tap house is a great location to sit in a comfy chair to read or to gather and try out a game either from their in house selection or one you brought along. The owners have a loyalty program they run and often host fun community events such as pie day pie and beer pairings or frequent live musicians.
Dogs are allowed in the outdoor seating area. The owners are dog people and greet dogs alongside people. Though dogs are not allowed inside, we've brought our dog and sat outside. We grabbed a game from their selection, going in to order from the bar when we needed drinks and had a lovely time. The owners came out to chat and pet the dog. I think they even brought the dog a biscuit.
The ownership is fantastic. The drink selection is fantastic. Their tap has everything. I've seen mead, ciders, kombucha, and others alongside the usual range of beer selection (anything from lager to IPA to stout and a bunch in between). They do serve food, but I haven't eaten there much and the one time I ordered food was a while back, so I don't have much to say on that. The atmosphere is warm, quiet and family friendly. Obviously nights with live music are louder and livelier, but on a typical (pre-covid) night even when they were busy the taproom had a friendly,...
Read moreWe came here fairly recently. Haven't gone out for a beer in months.
Being brutally honest (which I've found most people can't handle), while this is not a bad place, there is nothing unique here at all. It is the same as the other hundred taprooms in the city.
Around 30 taps consisting of beer, wine, and cider. Same basic layout, decor, TVs with sports as every other place.
Service was fine, we didn't eat, just sat and talked for a few hours.
I see reviews saying "best beer ever" and give 5 stars. Every single taproom review says the same thing.
If you have been to even 2 other places serving beer anywhere in the metro area, this place is no different. It's a carbon copy. That's why I...
Read moreLove this place! Family friendly environment with games and puzzles; and the occasional live music, it's cozy and their selection for drinks and food is various and always delicious! Their food is a reminder of good home cooking and it makes you feel right at home. The owners are incredible people and they go above and beyond to make you feel like you belong there. I could go on about how awesome this place is but it is a place everyone should check out. Also dogs can join on the outside...
