I've never had a more pleasant vehicle buying experience and I have May Auto Sales to thank for that. Friendly, professional, and they truly care about their customers!
This one one of the first few places I looked and I found a Jeep Patriot I was semi-interested in. It was a manual transmission though and it had been a while since I've driven one of those. Due to that, I kept looking... A LOT. I eventually can back to May and bought my manual transmission Jeep Patriot. They were very understanding that I needed to take several test drives to verify the vehicle and I were a good fit.
Making a deal could not have gone smoother. It is worth noting this place does not have a lot of wiggle room in their pricing. This is due to two things in my opinion...
On the day I purchased my vehicle, I had been very busy and barely eaten anything. During paperwork I became light headed and dizzy. Wow did they make sure I was taken care of! So much so they even asked I confirm I made it home safe. Again, these guys care! It may be a smaller lot without a fancy building, but don't let that turn you away. They are professional, offer great vehicle options and reasonable prices, and go out of their way to make sure their customers are happy and well taken care of. Stop here, I HIGHLY...
Read moreThe individuals here are quick to answer and work well with you in giving test drives and being willing to hold a car if you put a deposit down. They were friendly and courteous to both my wife and myself. However, their pricing is FAR off from fair market value, and absolutely refuse to work with you in discussing the price.
I took an '07 Toyota Solara with 135,000 miles (asking price: $5995) to my mechanic to check it out and stated that although in good condition, has some work that needs done; all in all, about $1500. (P/S rack leaking, Valve cover gasket leaking, rear bumper out of alignment, tires below 50% thread).
Here's the kicker...
First, KBB values the exact car I checked out at $5599 (varied by $4800-$6800), so they're already overpriced there but somehow they see it at $5995.
Secondly, the carfax shows an accident on record, which as most people know, lowers a vehicles value(clean or accident in record, which would YOU pick?)
Thirdly, the mechanical defects. See above.
Even after discussing all of this with these individuals, they still REFUSE to go below $5700. Still $100 above KBB before other listed problems. This just didn't make sense to me, especially since (as of writing) covid-19 has definitely made car selling a lot more difficult AND less people are in the market as well. They simply must not want my business now or ever.
If you're an individual looking to buy a decent car, I highly advise you look elsewhere since these folks overcharge, refuse to negotiate and otherwise...
Read moreWe would HIGHLY recommend May Auto Sales for your next used car purchase! We were looking for used cars with our daughter and went to several different places. When we came to May Auto we were met by Derek who was bright, cheery and quick to help us. I SO appreciated his honesty, friendliness and low pressure approach to serving us.
Our daughter found a great vehicle that was just what she was looking for. As parents, we felt very comfortable that she was buying a vehicle that would be safe and would also run well.
Bobby was absolutely wonderful to do business with. We again felt the honesty, friendliness and care shine through. He made the whole transaction seamless and we felt that the whole process was fair for all concerned. We felt that he went above and beyond to insure that we were served well.
I want to particularly point out that our daughter was the buyer. And both Derek and Bobby treated her with respect and spoke TO her as the buyer and not THROUGH her as a young woman. We were there for support and to give counsel but were not the buyers. We GREATLY appreciated the way that they treated our daughter and the way that they spoke to her directly.
Again, we would highly recommend May Auto and highly recommend working with Derek and Bobby. They are...
