Update below.... Nearly 5 stars. The guy behind the desk at check-in knew his stuff and got it 90%. He greeted me and introduced himself. He thanked me for being a member and offered me points or a goody bag. I took the bag which included enough for two. This was a thoughtful gesture. He told me he had already upgraded me to a hot tub room and took my vehicle information from what he could see parked outside. He was a great example of what every representative should do...except for one thing. He wore a slacks and a white shirt and vest and tie. Remarkable. Loved it. What looked wrong was that both sleeves were unbuttoned at the cuff and left to hang (not rolled up) and the vest was left open. Looked very unkempt. Had these been tidied up it would have been a home run for this hotel. He made the beginning of my experience a great one even telling me what was for breakfast in the morning. BTW the breakfast was pretty good. Not the best I have ever had but respectable. The orange juice has a funny taste. At 115 a night is was reasonable though not great. I would come back again because of the great service. It is clear that management cares about its patrons.
A couple of other notes. The hotel maintenance could be improved access from the road is a little awkward. The A/C in the room was great and quiet. It also has a constant-on feature which is nice. The hot-tub filled quickly but was very loud with not a lot of air mix and bubbles. But hey, all of this is made up by placing a free paper at my stoop.
UPDATE: A complete reversal of my first previous stay. We booked here and had guest travel in from out of state for a meeting. The website says they have a 1200 sq ft meeting space. We called to reserve it and they said they didn't have a meeting space and never did. We pointed out that it was on their website. We paid extra for a larger room after being told it had a business meeting space in the room. It did not. Just a simple table and 2 chairs. They brought us another table and more chairs but not cool after telling us it would work and charging us for the more expensive room. BTW they have a sign in their hallway point to "The Meeting Room" that doesn't exist. The horribleness of the stay continues. When I checked in I asked for an upgrade since it was not offered. He said he didn't know about any upgrade (I tried to educate him that it was part of my membership) and then said he booked me in a nice double queen room (what I paid for). I asked for a goodie bag instead which he ignored and said bonus points were a better value. He directed me to the wrong part of the hotel. I settled in an was awakened by someone coming into my room at 10:30 pm. I sent them away and called the front desk. The apologized and asked my name so they could verify my room (how do you not know what guest you have in your rooms). Then this morning I couldn't get back into my room because my key cards had been voided. Due to this latest experience and not action by management to address it I am downgrading my previous review...
Read moreWe will always choose Best Western Plus Northwind Inn as our go-to home away from home. My son and I spent over a week at this hotel and had an incredibly positive experience. The rooms are very comfortable, extremely clean and spacious, and the beds are super cozy. If there's anything that you need, simply ask.
The entire property seems to be ADA compliant/friendly above and beyond what I've seen anywhere else, including chair lifts for both the swimming pool and the hot tub.
The breakfast selection is unbelievable with a waffle station (my son's favorite!) that includes whipped cream, berries, chocolate chips and much more. Hot options daily such as eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, etc, as well as yogurt, muffins, fruit and far more.
Mr. Leroy, the breakfast master, greeted us daily with so much kindness, helpfulness and positive energy that it made even that pre-coffee pocket of the morning feel like something worth looking forward to. 10 sparkly stars and 2 solid thumbs up for our friend Mr. Leroy!
Last, and very much not least, the staff... I've stayed in countless hotels, motels and bed and breakfasts over the years. I've come to prefer airbnb over them all, now with this one and only exception. My experiences with the staff alone will have me opting to book here over any airbnb in the area in the future.
My son and I were guests with some special needs, requests and accommodation requirements. Not only did literally every single member of the staff (from the PHENOMENAL team at the desk to housekeeping, management and the kitchen team) rise to the occasion, but they routinely and cheerfully went so far above and beyond that it had me in tears almost daily.
The manager, Jamie, is a hiring queen and has somehow located, attracted and locked down an amazing team of very special humans. These individuals are genuine, sincere, clearly love what they do, and love and care for one another AND for their guests. They take pride in being here to serve and to assist, and you can feel it. I truly don't know what we would have done without them and their support and assistance with our "special needs" during our stay.
We will most definitely be back and are already looking forward to our next...
Read moreBeware! Do NOT stay here. Spend your money elsewhere. Prashant Gupta the general manager is extremely unprofessional and rude and argues with the guests. He was unwilling to resolve the issues. Wouldn't offer any compensation. I brought to his attention the issues we had during our stay. We ended up leaving 6 hours early around 530 am due to the extremely smoky room, concrete mattress and awful pillows. No sleep at all, not a wink due to lame bed and pillows. I had called and inquired about the beds and the ac unit before making the commitment. I was assured over the phone by a female that they were great comfy beds and that the ac unit did not pull in the hazardous smoke from the wildfires. All night the ac blew in the hazardous smoke. Staff says the pillowtop. It feels like laying on a concrete floor. The pillows are half size squares and caused neck pain and headache. The bed caused extreme back pain. I have stayed in more than 30 different hotels traveling in the past 10 years. This is the worst for mattress and pillows. I had asked to be put in another room with a better quality mattress and also get better pillows but the night desk staff said they were all the same. So we packed up around 5 am and checked out around 530 am. The price was $108. Rip off. Website shows $87 and that was NOT through a 3rd party. Meal was supposed to be included. We weren't given any food. Although the staff was courteous while we were there, Prashant Gupta the general manager was a complete jerk, rude, and no help at all for a resolution. He just argued with me and refused to resolve any issue. His exact words during the phone call were "I won't even credit you $20." We went there for sleep and air conditioning to escape the hazardous smoke. Worst $108 EVER spent. He continually refused to have any empathy for the situation. ZERO stars! This man needs to be demoted or fired. He has no business being in hospitality, period! I will be sharing this on social media and with all friends and family to never stay at this hotel! You have been warned! If you like hard beds this is the place for you, just beware of Prashant Gupta. If you have a bad experience he will argue with you and treat...
