3rd and final update reached out to my booking site expedia asked to at least be refunded the difference between a king room and queen room and maybe a lil more due to all the issues they reached out to the hotel and they denied giving me any compensation or refund at all. Told my entire family coming next month to not book this place turns out they suck. Update they moved us to the queen room and the bed is broken! There a huge dip hole in the bed... Again it's not the fault of reception she said she could not give a refund. So I'm out 160 bucks. DO NOT STAY HERE they didn't offer to even comp the difference in cost. Tried to at least get refunded the difference between the king I paid for and the broken queen they gave us and they refused. Walked into our room and it smelled like mold and mildew. The nice lady up front sprayed our room but tleven she said ewww. Found the source the entire carpet is sopping wet. They offered another room but without jet tub so a cheaper room then what we paid. Did not offer any kind of refund. I can't even walk to the bed without stepping on wet carpet! I also got shocked by the lamp trying to plug in my charger. That hurt . I definitely do not recommend this place as someone immunocompromised and disabled. I had to lay a towel down to walk to the bed cause I'm not going to be out over 150 bucks plus a 250 deposit by leaving. I just wanted a nice relaxing night away instead im stuck in a stinky wet room. Oh and a 250.00 incidentals deposit that should be refunded in 2 to 5 business days. They better give it back we didn't cause any damage or use any thing to be charged for. Only 45 channels on TV and the lady who checked me out when I asked for corporates number claimed she didn't know it and I could probably find it online.

I don't need to say what is wrong with the rooms-Pictures will speak for itself. You tell me if this looks like a place you would feel good about putting down a $150 deposit down for? Yep, thats what they require for this hell hole. Those bright and prestine photos they display on their website-HA! What a big fat deceptive tactic to lure people in. 🙄 Heaven forbid, you better not have any issue with the reservation thru a 3rd partys mistake/booking because the owner refuses to directly speak with the guests-Instead, her snotty day- shift front desk lady stone walls you from ever speaking with her and asserts the owner does not offer any sort of refunds, PERIOD, if you no longer want to stay there when you have only been there the first 10 minutes. Front desk lady informed me you can always try emailing the owner but she does not take phone calls! I emailed her the night of the problem-NO reply. It wasn't until I emailed her and CC'ed the CEO until she bothered to reply the next DAY and offer a refund. Had it not been for exposing these pictures, there is no way I would have gotten a refund with their adamant no refund policy. Breakfast-disgusting. No warm plates for the food. Bacon overcooked and as thin as paper (literally). Food is flavorless-You would taste better food at a rescue mission that is how gross. Most disturbing is, owner in past enjoys to fight with anyone who complains (calls them liars directly-you have to dig a little to find these comments. Do not trust positive reviews-PLEASE!

My mom and I visit the Portland area every December for a Mom & Daughter getaway and to do a little Christmas shopping. We have tried several different hotel chains and in several different areas. This location was not the most convenient for restaurants and shopping, but the customer service made up for the location. I usually get an upgrade at Best Western but this was a busy weekend, so no upgrade was available. The rooms are nicely updated and quite roomy. The sink outside the bathroom is something I really like in a hotel room when I travel with other people. It allows one person to be getting ready at the sink even while the other is showering. The beds were comfortable and allowed for a good night sleep. The little coffee /microwave / fridge area was nice and allowed us to keep our restaurant leftovers and enjoy them later. Hot breakfast was included in the morning and he selections were good. We stayed 2 nights and the choices had some variation day to day which is nice if you are staying awhile. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. My only negative is that the location is a little far from the malls and major shopping areas, and the entrances to the hotel are a little awkward due to a barrier in the middle of the street preventing cross traffic. If you want to go a specific direction you may have to go the other direction for awhile before you can turn around. Overall a good stay and we will likely return next year! Pics are from Room 309

Update below.... Nearly 5 stars. The guy behind the desk at check-in knew his stuff and got it 90%. He greeted me and introduced himself. He thanked me for being a member and offered me points or a goody bag. I took the bag which included enough for two. This was a thoughtful gesture. He told me he had already upgraded me to a hot tub room and took my vehicle information from what he could see parked outside. He was a great example of what every representative should do...except for one thing. He wore a slacks and a white shirt and vest and tie. Remarkable. Loved it. What looked wrong was that both sleeves were unbuttoned at the cuff and left to hang (not rolled up) and the vest was left open. Looked very unkempt. Had these been tidied up it would have been a home run for this hotel. He made the beginning of my experience a great one even telling me what was for breakfast in the morning. BTW the breakfast was pretty good. Not the best I have ever had but respectable. The orange juice has a funny taste. At 115 a night is was reasonable though not great. I would come back again because of the great service. It is clear that management cares about its patrons.

A couple of other notes. The hotel maintenance could be improved access from the road is a little awkward. The A/C in the room was great and quiet. It also has a constant-on feature which is nice. The hot-tub filled quickly but was very loud with not a lot of air mix and bubbles. But hey, all of this is made up by placing a free paper at my stoop.

UPDATE: A complete reversal of my first previous stay. We booked here and had guest travel in from out of state for a meeting. The website says they have a 1200 sq ft meeting space. We called to reserve it and they said they didn't have a meeting space and never did. We pointed out that it was on their website. We paid extra for a larger room after being told it had a business meeting space in the room. It did not. Just a simple table and 2 chairs. They brought us another table and more chairs but not cool after telling us it would work and charging us for the more expensive room. BTW they have a sign in their hallway point to "The Meeting Room" that doesn't exist. The horribleness of the stay continues. When I checked in I asked for an upgrade since it was not offered. He said he didn't know about any upgrade (I tried to educate him that it was part of my membership) and then said he booked me in a nice double queen room (what I paid for). I asked for a goodie bag instead which he ignored and said bonus points were a better value. He directed me to the wrong part of the hotel. I settled in an was awakened by someone coming into my room at 10:30 pm. I sent them away and called the front desk. The apologized and asked my name so they could verify my room (how do you not know what guest you have in your rooms). Then this morning I couldn't get back into my room because my key cards had been voided. Due to this latest experience and not action by management to address it I am downgrading my previous review...

We will always choose Best Western Plus Northwind Inn as our go-to home away from home. My son and I spent over a week at this hotel and had an incredibly positive experience. The rooms are very comfortable, extremely clean and spacious, and the beds are super cozy. If there's anything that you need, simply ask.

The entire property seems to be ADA compliant/friendly above and beyond what I've seen anywhere else, including chair lifts for both the swimming pool and the hot tub.

The breakfast selection is unbelievable with a waffle station (my son's favorite!) that includes whipped cream, berries, chocolate chips and much more. Hot options daily such as eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, etc, as well as yogurt, muffins, fruit and far more.

Mr. Leroy, the breakfast master, greeted us daily with so much kindness, helpfulness and positive energy that it made even that pre-coffee pocket of the morning feel like something worth looking forward to. 10 sparkly stars and 2 solid thumbs up for our friend Mr. Leroy!

Last, and very much not least, the staff... I've stayed in countless hotels, motels and bed and breakfasts over the years. I've come to prefer airbnb over them all, now with this one and only exception. My experiences with the staff alone will have me opting to book here over any airbnb in the area in the future.

My son and I were guests with some special needs, requests and accommodation requirements. Not only did literally every single member of the staff (from the PHENOMENAL team at the desk to housekeeping, management and the kitchen team) rise to the occasion, but they routinely and cheerfully went so far above and beyond that it had me in tears almost daily.

The manager, Jamie, is a hiring queen and has somehow located, attracted and locked down an amazing team of very special humans. These individuals are genuine, sincere, clearly love what they do, and love and care for one another AND for their guests. They take pride in being here to serve and to assist, and you can feel it. I truly don't know what we would have done without them and their support and assistance with our "special needs" during our stay.

We will most definitely be back and are already looking forward to our next...

Beware! Do NOT stay here. Spend your money elsewhere. Prashant Gupta the general manager is extremely unprofessional and rude and argues with the guests. He was unwilling to resolve the issues. Wouldn't offer any compensation. I brought to his attention the issues we had during our stay. We ended up leaving 6 hours early around 530 am due to the extremely smoky room, concrete mattress and awful pillows. No sleep at all, not a wink due to lame bed and pillows. I had called and inquired about the beds and the ac unit before making the commitment. I was assured over the phone by a female that they were great comfy beds and that the ac unit did not pull in the hazardous smoke from the wildfires. All night the ac blew in the hazardous smoke. Staff says the pillowtop. It feels like laying on a concrete floor. The pillows are half size squares and caused neck pain and headache. The bed caused extreme back pain. I have stayed in more than 30 different hotels traveling in the past 10 years. This is the worst for mattress and pillows. I had asked to be put in another room with a better quality mattress and also get better pillows but the night desk staff said they were all the same. So we packed up around 5 am and checked out around 530 am. The price was $108. Rip off. Website shows $87 and that was NOT through a 3rd party. Meal was supposed to be included. We weren't given any food. Although the staff was courteous while we were there, Prashant Gupta the general manager was a complete jerk, rude, and no help at all for a resolution. He just argued with me and refused to resolve any issue. His exact words during the phone call were "I won't even credit you $20." We went there for sleep and air conditioning to escape the hazardous smoke. Worst $108 EVER spent. He continually refused to have any empathy for the situation. ZERO stars! This man needs to be demoted or fired. He has no business being in hospitality, period! I will be sharing this on social media and with all friends and family to never stay at this hotel! You have been warned! If you like hard beds this is the place for you, just beware of Prashant Gupta. If you have a bad experience he will argue with you and treat...
