I want to start this out by the saying some of the best food I have eaten in a small restaurant along the Oregon coast and I have loved here my entire forst 40 years! This three star review is for that and that alone. I usually stick to my old favorites and this did not disappoint as far as food went. If I were writing it simply on the service of the waitres taking our tables' order I would be giving a MUCH MORE NEGATIVE review if it possible. However there is a nasty waitress there who treats her customers almost as badly as she treats her fellow employees. She treated us poorly for asking for extra things that on the menu it says it charges for so it's not as though we were asking for freebies. However she treated us like we were putting her out. Muttering under her breath about busy doing other things in a less than half full restaurant! Then as I was going up to get a printed bill because we were splitting it between three different groups of people and she told us if we wanted to pay the bill we just needed to go to the register without knowing for sure what are total was. Then acted annoyed when I had someone else print it out for us so we could figure out the difference. Second to the last attitude thrown our way, mine specifically, while waiting for my printed receipt from a very nice young lady I might add, I was standing in line watching what was going on toward the kitchen and observed her literally shove a hot plate full of food back at the cook on the other side of the window. To add insult to injury she began throwing the fries at her, that fell off of the plate when she slid into her in the first place. Then told her, next time time make it right! Then stormed off with part of that particular patrons food off to their table muttering under her breath the whole way. She also as we were walking out the door, (we spent almost $120 in food for our party of 7 adults and 1 year old baby and I NEVER leave without leaving some sort of a tip no matter the servoce, would be an extra side note), As we were walking out the door she was literally yelling, with two separate tables worth of people coming in to be seated and all the wait staff standing at the register as we were walking out, how we spent $120 and didn't bother to leave her a tip! I would have tipped a small tip to her no matter what because I don't ever leave an establishment without a tip! However, though the way that we were treated was deplorable, seeing her literally abuse and assault her cook over a dinner mistake was beyond my comprehension or ability to excuse! OR REWARD! SHE SHOULD LOSE HER JOB! I woild have pressed assault charges if I were her fellow emplyee she ABUSED AND ASSAULTED! I don't know her name but she has very bottle burgundy/fake red, long curly hair. I highly recommend if you see her when you come in don't stay for the show!! It isn't worth it at all!!! The food is great! NO food is worth that! However if she isn't there absolutely come check this place out it's some of the best food I've eaten in...
Read moreTLDR WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Atmosphere- if there was music playing, it could not be heard. The place was pretty barren as far as furnishings and decor. Also, don't look up when you enter this establishment. They have not dusted that popcorn ceiling in YEARS. Little dust nuggets clinging on for dear life. Food- We ordered the special "pizza tater tots". The tots were mushy and not crispy. The "pizza" toppings were diced bell pepper, black olive and some sausage crumbles. Different, in a weird way. I ordered a western burger for my entree. It was like they had my uncle in the kitchen cooking from the backyard. Definitely NOT worth the $18. The bun wasn't toasted, and there wasn't very much sauce. Also, it was obvious they gave me the end of the bag of waffle fries, because my plate had a ton of tiny little fry pieces on it. I also think they fry everything in the same fryer because my fries had a slight fish taste, like they had cooked fish and chips right before they made my food. My partner had the "Mirra Browns". A big sloppy plate of hashbrowns with a few veggies thrown on top. Not very satisfying. Service- The service was fine, until I tried to pay. Their terminal was not functioning properly. It gave an error message three times when I tried to use tap to pay. The server took my card and said, "Oh, your card doesn't have tap. That was the problem. Haha" Now why on Earth would I try to use tap to pay if my card didn't have that functionality? My tap to pay worked fine at the Fred Meyers right down the street. It worked fine at the gas station this morning. For her to suggest that I was using my own debit card improperly was the worst ending to an underwhelming experience I could have had. Spend your $40 at the Subway across the damn street. You'll get better food, and...
Read moreDon’t come here if you mind dust or ants. Not horrible if you like greasy spendy bar food. They serve the good kind of frozen chicken strips. My kids loved it but let’s be honest, I’m not a gourmet chef so the expectations weren’t Michelin. First, it was hot and stuffy. I know Tillamook doesn’t get super hot usually but a little AC never hurt anyone especially a restaurant with open kitchens. There is DUST on the fans and stuck in the popcorn ceiling. Ants covered the inside windowsills. So much that my daughter had a fun little game of counting them until she got sidetracked coloring and one crawled on her arm. We were seated and given menus/ordered drinks. About five mins later drinks came. About 15 minutes later the waitress took our order. Waitress offered condiments with my husbands fish but he said no the tarter it comes with would be just fine. About 30 mins later we got our food sans tarter. We were all almost done eating by the time any waitress made eye contact and we could ask for tarter and lemon since the fish was super bland. 20 mins later, still no sides. Another waitress brought boxes so we asked for the sides again and a few minutes later they arrived. I assume drinks came with refills? I don’t know we were never asked. We always tip well but my husband was so put off by the lack of service and uncleanliness he asked me not to tip. I still left $4 on a $67 bill - - $67 for chicken strips, fish and chips, a kids small cheese pizza, kids chicken strips (2) and fries, a side of waffle fries and a side of tots (don’t judge we were having a Yes day). It was all absolutely just cut out of bags and dunked in the deep fryer. The Fern was a staple in the community when I lived there for 15+ years, sad to see...
