Traveling through with work and was about to fall out from starvation. Always checking out new BBQ joints when I can so I spotted Blue Ridge, maybe the new location, off Graves Mill.
Pulled pork sandwich meal with onion rings and beef brisket sandwich, was the choice ordered to go. I sat down with my soda to wait and food came out not long after which made me happy. Asked if I wanted sauce to go so I chose to try all three. One of the staff noticed my response and asked if it was my first time eating their BBQ and told me to let them know and to stop back by. Both staff I conversed with we’re pleasant and helpful.
I dug right in when I got to the truck and I must say after reading some of the negative reviews I almost passed the place up but excited I stopped in. I’m not usually a fan of anything other than Carolina style sauce but I have to say each with their own kick we’re all very tasty to me. Each had a similar spice and a small enjoyable twang that stood out to me but each definitely their own taste. The brisket and pulled pork were cooked nicely, neither dry nor tough as some other customers had stated. The onion rings had a nice crisp to them as well seasoned, I felt, just right.
This is another spot I’ve decided to eat at despite reviews that had me wondering was I making the right choice. A reason why I read reviews but do not like to base my decision on alone. I would hate to miss a good meal cause a few people had a bad experience.
Next time I’m in the area Blue Ridge will be on the list of choices and most likely towards the top. Sorry no photos, the food didn’t have a chance. Thanks for the enjoyable meal that certainly filled me up. See...
Read moreYesterday was my husband’s birthday and, as a surprise, I took him to Blue Ridge BBQ. It was our very first time there and it turned out to be a wonderful surprise for both of us. The staff was so warm and welcoming it was more like visiting a family than a restaurant. The beautiful young lady at the order counter was so sweet. She offered to answer any questions we might have when I told her it was our very first time. I asked if the sauce on the burnt ends was spicy as I have a really delicate stomach and the sweet young man employee actually offered me a sample taste. Sadly for me, it was a bit too tangy for me, BUT it tasted amazing.
I ordered the 2 meat platter of pulled bbq pork and pulled bbq chicken with mac and cheese and cole slaw and my hubby ordered the pulled pork, baked beans and sidewinder fries. The food was absolutely amazing. Both of my meats were so tender and moist I found I didn’t need any sauce at all. The serving sizes were larger than what we expected and were well worth the price we paid.
The atmosphere was so relaxing and comforting and even the women’s restroom was perfect. Not only was it super clean and well stocked, but the four photos of adorable piglets on the wall In crocheted frames made me smile.
Warm, lovely, caring and kind people, a comforting atmosphere, amazing food and a clean restroom that makes you smile is exactly what Blue Ridge BBQ offers. My hubby and I both left full, extremely satisfied and happy. It just doesn’t get an better than this. We are official fans and we WILL be back.
Thanks to all of the wonderful staff for helping to make my hubby’s birthday so...
Read moreIf I could rate lower than 1 star I would. I went in on a Saturday in January and purchased 4 plates with 8 different side dishes to test in hopes that we could hire these people to cater a 200+ party. I called back within 30 minutes to tell them I'd like to hire them...I was told to email a request. Did it that afternoon. No response. Called 3 days later to try and book them...was told I would receive an email..along with 8 other people that evening regarding our date. Guess what? Nothing...at all. Called again 3 days later....was told I could leave a message. So I did. Finally 2 weeks later I called again trying to be hopeful and heard the woman who answered the phone tell her manager John that I was "irritable". #1: I wasn't at all irritable until I heard that (real professional phone etiquette there!) #2: Surprise surprise when I am told the date I was hoping to book was already booked! To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I was under the impression that the email I was to receive 2 weeks earlier was to confirm since I was told over the phone that I would have to choose my sides in the email. Unbelievably unprofessional. Not to return a call or send an email and overhear someone saying I was "irritable" and then to be told the date was already filled. I'm calling BS!! I would never step foot in this hole again. I will NEVER suggest this place to anyone. I don't know if the owners have anything to do with who runs this place but if they do...good luck. You need to pay a little more attention to detail when hiring and offering services to...
