I've been a fan of Bruegger's Bagels since the late 1980s but my visit to the stand at Gate 26 in the Philly Airport is last time zi I will ever buy anything at a Brueggers. I ordered a double egg and cheese on sesame bagel with the Twice Baked Hash Browns side. The bagel was room temperature, tough, tasteless and reminded me of cardboard. Only one thin pre frozen egg patty was on it and not completely thawed. Not the two eggs I ordered and the worst was the center of the egg patty had a grayish green cast to it. The twice baked hash brown must have been baked in the last century...it also was cold other than a mildly warm soggy crust. The food (if one dares call it that) was handed to me in a paper bag to carry onto the plane. No napkin in the bag....
Read moreI had only a coffee. The bagels looked great. The service was friendly and helpful. But then! They were closing up. Now I'd been in the airport for 5 hours. I was tired. When the lads closed up they turned on their OWN music very loud. I'm sorry I'm not sure what type it was but it was head-banging and very loud. Hip Hop? Not sure. Nothing recognisable anyway. Should this really be allowed? It's an airport lounge full of tired people and just because they are closing they can turn their own music up loud? I don't think so. I couldn't do that in my cafe! They threw together an egg and cheese bagel which is not what we even ordered. The food was cold and disgusting. Paid 20 bucks to not get our correct order and to get terrible food.
