We needed an airport drink to kick off our trip to LA, as my girlfriend was coming to meet my fam. Heavy shots. Chickie's and Pete's became the OBVIOUS choice, the only choice really, when they had on the 1997 NBA Slam Dunk Contest that featured Kobe Bean Bryant. There were only like 2 servers working here, so I was a little stressed about time but literally right when we sat down we were handed a menu and within 3 minutes they were back ready to take our order. I got caught watching Kobe work so when she came back and my pookie said "vodka soda please," I was scrambling to look at the menu because I'm really shy and get scared to ask for one more minute.... especially when pookie threw me under the bus like that... I normally order wine, but after getting looked at like I just slapped a prime Ghandi in the face for ordering wine in divey places like this, I started folding like a lawn chair and ordering beer. Also that wine do be giving me a headache ahahaha. I scrambled to look for an IPA as I know these are respected in the beer community, and they're honestly not half bad. I saw the Founder's All Day IPA was from Grand Rapids, MI and I LOVE South Western Michigan so I had to rep. Our drinks were on the table within 2 minutes. Just absolute quality service, shoutout to our server, Lauren. We see you sis!! Keep workin they need to cut you a check the way you be grinding in here!! THANK YOU CHICKIE! THANK YOU PETE! I was told that as a “party of one” that I would have to sit at the bar. This was okay with me, since the customers were leaving two seats empty between other guests. I placed my bag on the vacant seat closest to me. During my meal, a hostess came over to tell me I needed to put my bag on the floor so that seat could be used. I stated that using a seat that close to me would not allow for social distancing. I was told “there is no social distancing at the bar.” The bartender further explained, “If you are willing to come to a restaurant and take your mask off to eat, we assume that you don’t care about social distance”. I explained that social distancing is even more important when one needs to take off the mask. The bartender said, “ I can call a manager over for you, but they’re going to tell you the same thing.” I asked the bartender if it made sense that I was required to sit at the bar because I was a party of one, and then told that sitting at the bar denies me the safety of social distancing. The answer was yes. The complete opposite of what the sign said outside the door. “We are limiting store occupancy to help maintain social distancing” No matter how good crab fries and a lobster cheesesteak are… it’s not worth being exposed to this level of ignorance.

We were delayed in PHL and ended up having a couple of drinks at Chickie's & Pete's. They were quite busy, but we were able to be seated fairly quickly. After enjoying a few beers, we decided to settle up and head to our gate. We were unhappily surprised to find a surcharge that wasn't shared upfront before ordering. The attached picture shows what is said on the bottom of the receipt. So it's a Employee Wage and Benefits Fee, yet it is not a gratuity payable to employees. It should really say Employer as they are the only ones getting any money. Again, the worse part was that fact that it was hidden/unidentified before we were served. I would have NEVER set foot in the place if I had known this before hand. We have walked out of places before that tried to bull that on the public. The only difference, is that those places disclosed this prior to being seated (via signs, etc). Chickie's & Pete's never once shared this info. There are too many other places to go that don't trick their customers into paying more. Pathetic and a horrible business practice. Avoid if possible, or at least be aware of this before you blindly enjoy food or drinks.

We arrived here at 9pm from the moment we arrive, we were met with aggression, the security, or host guy aggressively told us that they weren’t seating anymore, and we had no problem with that, and ordered our drinks on the side like he said then we see them allow other people to be seated and handing the menus all my mother and I want it was a drink for each of us and some crab fries, something that will be finished very quickly they don’t close until 10 PM and were seating other people so my mom went up to the same guy and kindly asked if she could just have her drink and fries there since they were seating other people he aggressively says, loudly, making a spectacle, hesitantly,“ fine you can sit there, but we have family to go to too” pointing at a dirty table me and my mom decided to just let it slide because we wanted to enjoy our drink before flight and what’s is usually a tradition when we come to the airport we always come to this restaurant, this time we were met with such hostility and aggression that we definitely don’t know if we will continue that tradition. The first guy that we talk to went back for a moment and we got our drinks and proceeded to sit down where he said we could. He didn’t properly communicate to one of the other staff members, and they felt like it was appropriate to come to paying customers aggressively saying we aren’t seating any more loudly having other customers look at us and making us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome again. I calmly state to him that we got permission from the other guy and he continue to talk over me saying “we we aren’t seating,” then when he finally listens to what I said rudely says “oh I will go ask him and see about that” as if I would lie then he went over found out that he was wrong never apologized, I hear him speaking to other staff loudly saying I’m not dealing with her she has an attitude for the whole restaurant to hear and when he cleaned a tables next to me I stated to him again and said I wouldn’t sit here if I didn’t have permission and then he gets rude and loud and says over and over and I don’t need the attitude and I calmly say to him neither do I. I’ve never seen an establishment treat paying customers like this and they were in such a rush to get us out and we were already done our drinks by 9:26 and probably could’ve been out of there faster if they weren’t so hostile. even the bartender was giving us a hard time about ordering crab fries, while handing menus to other customers who just walked in. My mother and I were repeatedly disrespected, and we kept just trying to be patient and kind and they just kept making a spectacle of us and treating us like we were such an inconvenience and unwelcome. I definitely think that they need higher management to come in and reevaluate the staff representing the company. They’re truly lucky that we just didn’t walk out.

The security guy was some old bald gentleman. The other server was late 20s early 30s male with mustache. bartender has blonde short hair...

I have NEVER been treated so poorly in any establishment that I have ever been to! My friend and I had a flight delay so we decide to get something to eat. I had never been to Chickie and Pete's before so I was disappointed when the one in terminal E was closed. The nice gentleman told us that there was another one in terminal C (Philadelphia Airport) that would be open until 11. Being the Seafood fanatics that we are, we walked until we found it. We sat at the bar and waited to be notice as the bartender walked back and forth several times. Finally he asked if a menu was needed and I told him "absolutely! I am in need of a seafood fix!" I was excited. We ordered our drinks and waited. In the meantime, and gentleman came and sat down to my left, and two more sat down to her right. ALL OF THEM GOT THEIR ORDERS BEFORE US!!!! He finally brought us our drinks AND LEFT AGAIN!! Ten minutes after that he came to see about us. When we went to order some food, he told us that the kitchen closed 20 minutes ago......after I had been waiting to order far longer than that. When we spoke to the manager about it, he couldn't care less. Let me just say that I am beyond furious!! That is NOT how you treat customers!! I'm not sure why we were treated this way but I will not be patronizing this establishment ever...
