October 24, 2020 – I just gave Chipotle another chance… once again they surprised me by how badly they failed. I stopped in at the Chipotle in Titusville, FL for lunch, right at 12:30 PM. There was no one in line behind me. The servers were impatient and rude. I have worked fast food and I understand that you have to work fast during the lunch run. But there was no one in line behind me, no excuse for being rude or impatient. I asked if I could get onion added to my burrito. The answer was, with a gesture towards the various ingredients, “Do you see any onions? We don’t have onions”. The server then wadded my burrito up into a ball, not a burrito. It was spherical. So, I stepped to the cashier who rang my burrito up and asked for payment without getting my drink order. I had to ask for a drink. She rang up a small soda without asking me what I wanted.
I went to get tea. The urns were not marked. I went back to ask about the tea. The manager came over and tasted the tea and told me “The sweet tea is on the left, it is always on the left”. I asked her if she expected me to remember that for next time. She walked away without answering.
There were no clean tables, I had to wipe off a table before I could eat. The spherical burrito defeated my attempts to bite it. I had to take it back to my office and put it on a paper plate and eat it with a knife and fork. Maybe it was because I was so irritated but I did not like the burrito. It was all very disappointing.
I hope that the problem is just this particular Chipotle. I used to enjoy eating at Chipotle in other locations. I will not give the Titusville Chipotle another chance for a very long time.
I just had lunch at the new Chipotle in Titusville, 2/4/2022.
It's new, clean, well staffed. It was smaller than I expected but that's on me. The staff was alert, attentive, well trained, efficient, respectful and friendly (Burger King, pay attention). No one will complain about the portion sizes at Chipotle. You get plenty of food. I got a Steak Bowl, a side of chips and guac and small soda. The good news? The steak in my bowl was steak!. It was good. The guac was good… guac is good. But that's about it. The chips were seriously stale. The food was under seasoned. I sat outside on their patio to eat… it was a sunny day and I really enjoyed that. I really wanted to love this place. I’d eaten at other Chipotles years ago but couldn’t remember what it was like. The food was OK. Which means it didn’t knock me out. I lived in west Texas and traveled extensively in the American southwest so maybe my expectations were too high going in. Bottom line? I had a Steak Bowl, a side of chips and guac and small soda. It was OK. It cost $17.33. And there’s your problem. It just wasn’t $17.33...
Read moreI’m writing this as a frustrated and disappointed supporter of a local youth soccer team that partnered with the Chipotle in Titusville for a team fundraiser last night. What was supposed to be a fun and positive event to help raise money for a group of hardworking 8-year-old kids turned into a lesson in corporate greed and shady business tactics.
Chipotle promised that a percentage of the sales from our event would go directly to the team — simple enough, right? Families showed up in huge numbers, friends and neighbors came out to support, and the restaurant was packed with people wearing team shirts and mentioning the fundraiser at checkout. Everyone did their part. The line was out the door. You could barely find a seat.
But when the dust settled, the “donation” Chipotle reported back was insultingly low — nowhere near what it should have been based on how many people came out and how much food was sold. Parents compared notes, receipts, and even estimated totals, and it’s painfully obvious that something doesn’t add up. Either someone miscounted, or worse, Chipotle found a convenient way to shave off part of the proceeds that were supposed to go to the kids.
These are 8-year-olds trying to raise money for uniforms, tournament fees, and equipment — not some giant organization trying to turn a profit. Chipotle markets itself as a “community-oriented” company, but what kind of community partner squeezes a children’s soccer team out of their rightful fundraising money?
If this is how Chipotle treats local groups who trust them with community fundraisers, people deserve to know. We’re not talking about a few dollars — we’re talking about kids being shortchanged after doing everything by the book. It’s shady, dishonest, and absolutely unacceptable.
I hope someone from Chipotle corporate actually looks into this and makes it right, because as of now, this whole experience feels like a scam dressed up as “community outreach.” Until then, I’ll be telling everyone I know to skip the Titusville Chipotle. If they can take advantage of 8-year-old kids, who won’t they take...
Read morePossible health hazard, poor service, long wait, and questionable quality food. Chipotle corporate needs to send a manager to this restaurant to properly train this staff/restaurant to be up to the level of health and quality standards expected of Chipotle. Possible health hazard as the person in front of me ordered chips and queso; the server opened the lid to the queso, looked at the queso, made a disgusted face, and just walked away for a minute+. Came back with a cook, says, "look at this" and shows the cook. They both make disgusted faces and the cook says "no, no, no, that is disgusting, no, that looks like...ew..." I almost left the restaurant then and there. I should have. They gave the person a pre-packed queso from under the counter. GIANT red flag. They ran out of black beans and told 20 minute wait. This is not how Chipotle is typically run. Usually next batch is on deck. Red flag. Got pinto beans which we are crusty and coagulated in the pan. Red flag. I was there at 4 PM, before dinner. 5 people ahead of me inside in line. I left at 4.30. That is absurdly long for a fast-casual chain. Red flags are waving everywhere. Chicken was an odd shredded/mushy texture I have not had at chipotle before (fine, edible, not a huge deal). If this Chipotle was run like every other one I've been to, I would be there more than once a week. I WANT to give you my money. After this experience, I wrote my first google review ever to hopefully prevent anyone else from risking this and have told all my friends about this bad experience. I will not be going back here until they are getting consistent 5 star reviews...I think that will happen as fast as Chipotle Corporate decides they need to step in and sort...
