I was really looking forward to trying out Royal Sushi today. How I was greeted today broke my heartš¢. Apparently, a party of "one" is not as financially viable as a party of "more than one". The person who seated me today told me so. She took her time to verbally state to me that single parties can not sit in a booth (there were multiple "booths" available). I came to Royal Sushi today to take a much needed break from caregiving and to enjoy a kind venue to enjoy a meal. I was shamed for being a party of "one". If it were not for my server Matthew, I would have left. Matthew was great. My experience as a "party of one" for my very first time at this establishment leaves me apprehensive about coming back again. I most likely will not be coming back.
*UPDATE: I did not come at "rush hour". I was shamed for being a "party of one". I tipped my server approximately 45%. I was seated at about 2:55 pm. That IS not rush hour. Based on the owner's response today, I will NOT be coming back.
The owners response is CLEAR "Although we would love and we will accommodate as much as we could, we need to state clearly to avoid future complications that itās not guaranteed during rush hour as more than 2 or 3 guests will be on our waiting list."
If you are a party of one, you are NOT valued as much as a party of 2 or 3. I will be dining elsewhere, where patrons are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went there in Valentines day for an early dinner, 4ish. They were about half full and we were seated quickly. Drinks came out quickly. Dinner took forever. Other tables were being served, who came in after us.The sushi came out about 30 min after ordering, they appoligized about the wait, said it had something to do with the sushi chef. Meanwhile other tables were being served their sushi and rolls, who came in after us.The pad thai came out about 8 minutes later. My husband had the sushi/sashimi combo, he said it was amazing! I had the pad thai and it tasted like it was made with bar b que sauce. I was very disappointed. With the sushi being so good, we were wanting to give another try. We went today for lunch, about 1pm, and it was packed. We were told it would be a 15 min wait. There is no where to stand and wait, so we told 2 different employees we were going to wait outside. We noticed other people walking in, then we saw a couple, who we knew were seated, ate, paid and left, so we walked in to take their table. The same 2 people we told we were waiting outside, seated the people that walked in after us at the table meant for us. We brought it to their attention, he kinda apologized, half heartedly, we left and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDecided to try this restaurant after a movie. Apparently it is relatively new. We waited only a few minutes for a table. The waitress was very helpful and funny! We had Sushi Regular and Sushi Deluxe. They were presented well and tasted wonderful. Highly recommended! Only con was it was a little pricey compared to our regular Sushi joint. Update from our visit 18 August 2025. Even though it was a high traffic time we were seated right away. Most of the tables were filled. We both ordered Sushi Regular and that comes with soup and salad. The soup (onions and I donāt get along so they allowed me to substitute Miso Soup) was very good. Lots of tofu, more than most Sushi places. The salad was ok. I prefer carrot ginger dressing but my wife likes what they served. I got green tea and it was served with a cup and tea bag allowing as many cups of hot water as you wanted. The tea bag is sufficient for at least two cups. I have to add that the cup had a chip in the lip of the cup right where you put your mouth. Took away from the really good cup of tea. The sushi presentation was excellent and beautifully done! Taste was good, texture was good, rice was tender, four and a half out of five stars. Really...
