Hi. I don’t believe in social media but I’m going to make an exception for this lovely person. Some people just deserve a little extra attention for how they treat you. By the way, if it’s not obvious, this is pure sarcasm. So, I have this restaurant that is a favorite in my family. When my father comes on vacation, we specifically take him there because they have the best Philly that I’ve had in years.
So, this past on Saturday night, I ordered a Philly and I picked it up at 8:48. Unfortunately, they gave me the wrong side. The workers were very nice though. I couldn’t be upset about a small mistake. It was no big deal. Unfortunately, they couldn’t cook the order again because the kitchen was closed. I understood and I told them no problem. They said call on Monday. They’re closed on Sunday. I said OK. Very nice and very friendly staff.
Fast forward to approximately 10 minutes ago, which was today, Monday, at 1:25. When I called, I spoke to the same lady as on Friday. Again, she was very friendly. She gave me to someone else who was very friendly who gave me to the manager. Ricky. That’s where everything changed. I explained to him the situation and he was very rude and condescending and stated that he would not remake the order because he was not going to remake a whole order just for side of fries. I explained that the meal was for someone and that person didn’t get a whole meal that night and was not even upset. Therefore, for the consideration of being respectful and understanding that a restaurant makes mistakes and since I’m not asking for my money back nor extra to compensate for the inconvenience of not having the food, having to wait two days and then having to drive there, I figured the least he would be to remake the meal. He replied with an inconsiderate no and he didn’t have time for this. He said he was very busy and did I “want the fries or not? If not, I’m not gonna waste my time talking to you.” I said OK. I’m just going to make sure I let everyone know that you have the worst customer service I’ve actually seen in years. He did not care.
When I called back to get his name, approximately five times or so, they hung up the phone on me and they wouldn’t even pick up my call. It must’ve been on the caller Id because when I called back with *67 to block my number, my phone call was picked up. I spoke to one of the ladies that was nice. I asked her for the managers name and thanked her for the customer service and her coworker as well. I at least wanted them to know I appreciated their kindness and concern. I can’t blame them for their manager. There’s nothing they can do as workers if the manager is the way this manager is. So, I basically got his name them and hung up the phone and told them to look for my post on Facebook. Lol.
Seriously, however, I’m telling you I don’t care how good of restaurants food is. It is not worth being so severely disprected. I’ve been in customer service for over 20 years. I’ve been a manager at a couple different restaurants. I’ve never treated any of my customers in that manner. Especially with the way times are now, it is tough to buy food out and why would you give money to a restaurant that’s going to treat you like that. I don’t care how much I love that restaurant, I will never go back and I will never take my father there again.
Again, this restaurant is Icehouse Grill on S. Washington St. in Titusville Florida. Give your money to people...
Read moreWent for the first time today, was not impressed at all. Ordered the "Rodeo Burger" and my friend ordered a regular cheeseburger. Sat down at a table, which was sticky and gross. Moved to another table, still sticky, so we just laid down napkins so our arms wouldn't stick to the table. The fries are the same frozen stuff every other mediocre restaurant orders from the foodservice supplier. The burgers themselves had no flavor, also bulk meat out of a box. The person at the counter didn't ask for a temperature on either burger, so I wasn't surprised when it was all gray and overcooked. I could see the onion rings were frozen product as well. No flavor there, either. The barbecue sauce was disgusting, with a nasty sticky texture. I'm beginning to notice a pattern here. The 6 gallons of sauce they put on the burger didn't help. I guess the bacon was OK. The buns were cold, despite the menu indicating them being "toasted." A bun lying dry on a flat grill for a few seconds is not a toasted. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, though. The whole menu seems to be just different foodservice products mixed and matched together, nothing really made in-house at all. Just doesn't seem like there's any effort happening here. I just felt like I was eating out of the back of a...
Read moreAs a food-enthusiast, I look for local spots that serve fresh food, have variety, and great experience and atmosphere.
This place is legit! Everything is made to order, the staff is exceptional and friendly, and the owner stops at nothing to ensure the food is quality and affordable.
It’s fresh. It’s unique—and with a recent menu update, it’s next-level-variety with fare like: chicken-tikka-tacos and skewers; chicken-tikka-masala; new appetizers like bacon wrapped jalapeño bites with an incredible raspberry jalapeño sauce; southwest chicken spring rolls; and, a churched-up entree menu of steak, chicken, and salmon rice bowls with avocado lime or curry drizzle.
Not leaving the the pub fare behind, they have an incredible fried chicken sandwich, bacon-wrapped-jalapeño burger, and wings with new sauces like kicken bourbon, mango habanero, honey sriracha or the always classic garlic-Parmesan, buffalo garlic, and others.
Oh, and the sandwiches—the triple decker is a jacked up club sandwich.
It’s local. It’s fresh. It’s a...
