The food TASTED great (except for the desert), but there are several reasons I'm giving this restaurant 3 stars instead of 5. So, for starters, I got a side of mac-n-cheese, which was 3.29 before tax, and as you can see I got a VERY small portion size fir that price, which took all of 6 spoonfuls to eat, which is 55 cents per bite! Then the main meal of tots covered in queso and pulled pork was $13, again way overpriced considering the queso was a bit chunky, like it had been sitting a while, and a huge piece of the pulled pork was just a large swath of skin with fat clinging to the underside (the large dark piece seen on the plate in the pic). And sweet tea for $3.29!? Drinks are pure profit for restaurants and what they are charging is outrageous, only caring for profit. Everything is already so overpriced for the portions received. And finally I tried their $4 banana pudding. I'm glad that they added real pieces of banana on top because the pudding itself tasted just like simple vanilla pudding! I tipped the waitress well because she was kind and checked on me twice, but I will never eat here again if I travel back through. $25 total for my meal, when I could have gotten my tummy MORE full at Culvers across the street for HALF that price!

Great food, great location, friendly staff This Sonny’s BBQ is located on State Road 50 in Central Florida, just east of downtown Orlando and Christmas, Florida. This restaurant is part of the well-known Sonny’s chain that started in Gainesville in 1968. This location delivers on the brand’s reputation for solid barbecue and warm service. The building is easy to spot and has plenty of parking around the sides and back, though the main road, SR 50, can get a little busy during peak hours. Inside, the atmosphere is classic Sonny’s—laid-back, clean, and family-friendly. We were greeted promptly by a smiling hostess and seated in a booth, which seems to be the default at most Sonny’s locations. The service was quick and attentive from start to finish. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich and french fries with a tea for the drink. All of the food came out hot and fresh within minutes. The meat was tender and flavorful, especially when topped with Sonny’s signature sweet sauce. For a full meal and drinks, the price came out under $35 for two people, which is a good price for a sit-down barbecue restaurant. All in all, this Sonny’s on SR 50 lives up to the high standards of the chain—reliable, tasty, and budget-friendly. A great stop for a good meal.

I'm here on vacation and read the reviews on Sonny's BBQ and thought, let's give it try. The place was busy, but we were able to sit at the bar. The waitress was very nice and friendly, we were served our drinks quickly. I ordered corn nuggets, which I had never had before, and LOVED them. They were served nice and hot. Things kinda went bad after that. We ordered the sampler plate, and even though the food looked good on the plate, everything was 🥶 cold. The ribs were dry and cold, and the brisket was thin, cold, and dry. The chicken was lukewarm and dry....you notice a theme? I gave up and ate the cold slaw (which was cold and delicious). Honestly, the food may have tasted better if it weren't so dry. I loved our waitress, and her personality made the visit more tolerable. If you want cold dry BBQ meat, then this is your place. Sorry Sonny, I had such high hopes. Please talk to your servers or cooks... whoever is in charge and get them to serve a nice hot and juicy BBQ like it ought to be.

Yes, it is a franchise restaurant, but it is also one of those franchise restaurants in which quality is apparent in every aspect; the food, the service, the cleanliness, the smell and the overall feel good atmosphere. You can even smell the quality if you stop at the door step and inhale the smokey aroma exiting the chimney. At this particular Sonny's (in the ever-enjoyable city of Titusville), I felt the very experience and sentiment I described. If you (with or without friends) are in need of a comfortable and relaxing environment (just the ticket to quell stress or boredom), and at the same time you're in the mood to burn some cash for some delicious and filling barbecue, then I recommend you come to this Sonny's. The staff is both courteous and accommodating to the outcome of your meal. The decorum is that of a clean and appealing sight where one can infer the sentiment: "This is nice". Needless to say, the food meets the pleasant expectations one may have if they take a moment to smell that soothing air of burning wood; I strongly recommend the brisket and the St. Louis ribs. My favorite is the all-you-can-eat deal, where you may have the opportunity to savor the variety of barbecued meats they have to offer, along with crispy fries and garlic bread, among other good sides. I also recommend you try the barbecue sauces they have available at your table (start with smokey and/or sweet). As mentioned, yes, it is a franchise, but seldom are there exceptions of quality, and this Sonny's in particular is worth a visit for those you seek good food and a comforting...

First off let me start by saying, I love Sonny’s smoked wings, and I order them quite often. The problem is every time I visit the Titusville, FL location the ladies who are at the register handling curbside and take out orders, all seem so drained, irritated, and angry (twice within the last week) I’m never met with a smile, not even a Hello!… It’s always a dry “You have a pick up orders? Your name?” And then they begin to drag themselves along to go check in the back. Now I’ve tried to avoid these situations of going inside to pick up my order and I tried going through the drive thru to prevent being pissed off from their attitudes, and lawd why did I do that?! The lady yelled at me through the speaker box for coming thru the drive thru to pick up my order and told me to just drive back to the front and sit and wait for someone to come out, though my check in text was not working, she didn’t care, she just wanted me out her drive thru line. Also, This particular day it was raining so I was thinking I’ll keep everyone dry by going through the drive thru and ended up being talked to like I was a toddler. Now again, I love me some Sonny’s BBQ, but customer service is not up to par. I don’t know who did it l, but I do know that I did not apply for them to go there to work a job they clearly don’t enjoy doing or want, and I’m not sure who or if anyone forced them too, but what I can say is they keep making me rethink my decisions every time I go and spend my hard earned money...

My most recent visit has caused me to change my previous 5 star review to just 1 star. I've never walked out of a Sonnys before my food came, but I did today. It was over something that could have easily been addressed. We waited a few minutes to be seated, which was unusual. There were several employees standing around chatting without giving my family any acknowledgment. We were seated at a table that was very sticky. The menus were sticking to the table. My husband asked the server to wipe the table. He also pointed to a spot with visible sauce on it. She said "oh that little spot," and wiped it with her finger and continued with, "I don't have a towel. What do you want to drink?" She brought the drinks, didn't wipe the table. After the server left, my husband asked another server if he could speak to a manager. A manager comes to the table, and as we are trying to explain what our issue is with the table, the server comes to the table and starts arguing with us in front of the manager and other customers. That is the real issue here. The table could have been wiped, but instead of just doing that to begin with, the server made it an uncomfortable situation. It was inappropriate and rude. We left the restaurant because we were out as a family trying to have a good time, not deal with a rude and argumentative server. That would have been a complete waste of money. We love Sonnys but won't be back for...
