This was a horrible experience and cannot be described any other way!! I ordered my food online in hopes on using the curbside to go feature which is nice because that means I don't have to get out of my car. Ordering online seemed easy enough. I ordered the Boss Hog Burger which was topped with brisket, pulled pork, smoked sausage and bacon with both bbq and ranch sauce on top. I ordered it minus tomato with extra sauce and even requested a side container of their ancho chile ranch because I like to dip my fries in it. Paid online and was given the instruction to text "here" once I arrive and my food will be brought to my car. I arrive on time and text to the number to signal that I was there and ready for my food. Nothing. After about 10 minutes I got impatient and came inside the curbside pickup door to inquire about my food. There were 3 people already inside in which 2 of then were also waiting on their order and the third was waiting to place an order. The waitress behind the counter asked if I was picking up and I told her my name and my order as well as what time I was supposed to pick it up. She acknowledged and proceeded to take the other person's order without even checking to see if my order that was already paid for was ready. The person in front of me was indecisive and wasn't sure what she wanted so I proceeded to wait at least another 10 minutes while multiple other employees walked or stood by without offering to help retrieve my food. At this time, I texted "here" to the number again which set off an audible alarm which was quickly silenced and ignored by the waitress placing the other order. Finally someone from the very loud and obnoxious sounding kitchen brought my food out in a bag and handed it to me and walked away before I noticed that I did not have my sauce I ordered and paid for. She brushed it off and stated that it should be on the burger in which I replied I didn't ask for it on the burger, I requested a side cup which was clearly stated on my receipt. She walked away and shouted to the kitchen for sauce and brought it back with a serious attitude. I finally leave with my order and get home to enjoy my burger. The very first bite was filled with nothing but hard crunchy inedible gristle from the pulled pork which instantly made me gag. All the pork on the burger was made up of gristle which I had to pick off. The burger patty was hot and seemed fresh but none of the topping did. They all seemed old and dried out. And on top of all that, there was literally a tiny drizzle of the TWO sauces that come on the burger in which I requested extra. This made this burger that had a ton of various meats on it, VERY dry. I'm sure not all Chili's are like the one on Talmadge in Toledo, but this one didn't help the reputation of the company at all. There were three of us and we never received our food, even after a hour of waiting. The restaurant was practically empty. I only saw one waiter/waitress.My meal came with a chili. The chili was cold. The waiter took it back and it was lukewarm when he brought it back out. We waited so long the manager had to apologize. I guess there were two new cooks in the kitchen. We felt that the manager should have been in the kitchen helping the cooks if they were having problems. I had also made a to go order while we were waiting. The manager brought out the to go order and said she wasn't going to charge us for the meals we didn't get. But we still wanted our meals...especially after sitting there for a hour. She still charged me for the to go order. Ultimately I told her to keep the order and we walked out. At least give us some gift cards or the to go order should have been free. Anything to make up for the poor service and to keep a customer. I will not eat at that Chili's again and maybe never go to another Chili's restaurant. Word to the wise Chili's....if your location doesn't have enough staff, then close until you do. Bad customer service leads to bad reviews. 👎 I'm sure the other customers there weren't happy either. There are too many other restaurants in that area and Chili's just lost not only my business but probably other people's also. I called the 1 800 number to make a complaint but who has time to sit on the phone for 15mins waiting for someone to keep putting you on hold. Read moreWe hadn't gone to the Chili's on Talmadge Road, Toledo, OH in some time as the one time we went we stood and waited to be seated while the manager and several employees stood near the kitchen door talking and laughing. We literally waited 5 minutes and then left.
We went back after about 18 months or so and had great experiences over several more meals. Quick service, attentive server, good food. Until this week. It took forever to get a server to take our order and we waited 20 minutes to get chips and salsa. We asked the server twice as we were then worried the appetizer would come at the same time as the meal and she said that 'the manager just dropped some chips so they should be out soon'. When they arrived they weren't even warm so that didn't seem to ring true.
We then waited another 15 minutes with no food. The booth behind us left before their meals came for the same reason. We caught the attention of our server and told her we just wanted to cancel our order as it was now almost 45 minutes since we had been seated. She said very snarky, 'Well, WE'RE BUSY' then she snatched up the pay bot on the table and cancelled out everything but the chips and salsa plus two sodas. She didn't apologize, didn't say anything more other than into her headpiece to tell the kitchen to cancel our order and walked away angrily.
I don't know WHAT happened, whether they've had a change in managers or in staff but we won't be back anytime soon. To have to pay $14.20 for chips and salsa and two sodas AFTER we had to wait so long was ridiculous. Worse, the server was just...
