Rice King — Restaurant in Toledo

I like their food but today was a confusing experience. I called to verify they were open around 5:00 p.m. Someone answered, no problem. I call back a few minutes later to place my order. Again no problem. He confirmed my order and gave me my total. It would take between 15 to 20 minutes. When I showed up, the place is locked up tight and there are no lights on. From out front I call a third time, this time a different person answers. I explain what happened and she puts me on hold for about 5 minutes. When she comes back, she apologizes and said there must have been some confusion because the place is under construction. Huh? I told her I was standing right out front and I don't understand how someone could answer the phone three different times if the place is closed down for construction. Somebody was not forthcoming, but at that point I didn't care because I had to figure out other plans for dinner. As I was driving away someone else goes walking up to Rice King to pick up their phone order! The only consolation we both found was that we did not pay in advance for our order. Quite the head...

My favorite Chinese food restaurant was closed and Rice King was recommended as an alternative. I tried them and was thoroughly satisfied with my choice.

I ordered online and paid at the restaurant. They do not allow people inside the restaurant at this time and have a makeshift wooden box that is very safe and efficient for paying and serving through. It did take a while to get my food but I am used to that. When I want my food hot and fresh I am willing to wait.

When tou spend over a certain amount on Chinese take out, in my case $55, you are supposed to get a free 2 liter. You do have to ask because they usually will not offer it 😂..

BUT, all in all I am happy with Rice King and will go back soon.

This place is takeout only, which is perfectly fine with me. We eat here several times a week - the company I work for. HUGE FANS! The food is always great and has great flavor, there isn't anything on the menu that we haven't liked so far. The staff are very nice here as well, very helpful. We also love - and appreciate- the little coupons that they offer. Absolutely will continue coming here, it is the only Chinese restaurant I will eat from...
