Saw a review of the burgers on TikTok, guy gave a 9.4 rating. Intrigued living so close to this place and also doing mukbangs on TikTok I knew I had to try it.
I called to place my order - the lady puts me on hold for 15 mins. In that time I was able to drive to the store to where she answered the phone as I was opening the door.
Walking in I got no smells of bbq and there was barely anyone inside. I placed my order and she tells me it’ll be 5 mins until my food is ready. 20 mins later - I get my bag. She also spelled my name ignorantly. It’s Belinda . She spelled it balina” after I spelled it to her smh.
I get in the car and drive down the street but decided to check my food. It’s just a meat patty with lukewarm fries it’s missing the condiments and cheese. I call back and they tell me to come back to return my food for replacement. I drive back - I wait another 10 mins. No one acknowledges my presence - the girl comes out and takes my bag and apologizes.
The manager then walks out and I tell her my experience and why I wanted to try them and she just had the most blank look on her face giving the most wack “apology” I haven’t even tried the burger but I can already tell it wasn’t made with love. Will never be back. Even if it’s good - you can’t make up for the mediocre service.
Update: tried the burger. Barely seasoned. Good quality of beef though and cooked perfectly. Like the bun as well. Burger alone 6.5/10. Needs more seasoning but honestly pretty nice....
Read moreWe had a 12 person party last night for my mother's 70th birthday. At first, things were great, they were willing to accommodate a 12-person party pretty efficiently and even moved tables that provided ample space for conversation and dining. The one server that we had was clearly overwhelmed and not the most upbeat. Because it was such a large party, we gave her the benefit of the doubt. However, as the food was being brought out, which was one to two plates at a time over the course of 10 minutes, the food was not up to par. The bacon that was on the salad was obviously pre-prepared cheap bacon bits that resembled dog food. Bacon bits are very easy to make from scratch, and extremely delicious. There was whole slices of onion on my "chopped salad" and the beef brisket was dry and clearly not fresh. Overall, the ambiance was nice and we made the best out of the situation. My dad wanted us to go there because they had a special. Well, my dad wanted to order the special but they didn't have any mashed potatoes so they refused to give him the special. They said they could not do any substitutes. No substitutes... That's interesting. I can tell you this, I wanted this place to do well as it has 419 in the title. But if I'm being honest with myself, I don't see this place surviving more than 2 years. I never leave reviews.. But I felt compelled to make others aware and maybe wake the owners up to stop cutting corners if they...
Read moreMenu is great but the portions were very small and could be better executed. Chopped salad was really small and the added chicken was cold. Smallest entree salad I have seen at a restaurant, especially for $15. The BBQ Ramen: Great concept, could use a tweak to the broth. Really sharp sour flavor that made difficult to enjoy. Again, the portion was extremely small and there was little to no broth and not very warm. They did add some additional broth after I saw there was none and asked. The vegetables remained uncooked. In a good ramen, the bowl is large, and the broth and noodles are hot and plentiful. This is not the case at 419. Brisket in it was very good. Don’t give up on the concept, but visit any ramen/pho shops in Toledo or Ann Arbor to see what is expected from a bowl of ramen. The ribs were good but almost a cross between a fully smoked rib and pressure/oven cooked rib you would get back in the day from Damon’s. I am going to give the ribs another try to see if it was just the taste I got. Fries were fantastic! Mac & Cheese has good flavor, cheese was a little soupy but good overall. Beer and drinks were priced well $4.25 for a 23oz draft which will bring us back to try some other menu items. Left still hungry with no left overs. It is the first week, but some focus on portion sizes, temps, and improving the ramen, would go a long way in moving the star...
