Been here a couple times. Wasn’t great the first time but the second time was the craziest experience I’ve ever had eating out. As soon as we got there we were waiting for a table…even though the places was 90% empty. FINALLY a girl led us to a table, which she couldn’t find because almost every table had food, trash and dishes all over them, even though there was not 1 person sitting at any of these tables. She finally found us a “clean” table which ended up being dirty and having trash all over the floor so we asked to be moved and she had to clean another table so we could sit somewhere else. Finally we are able to order food. For an appetizer we had a cheese dip which was neither that good or that big and turned out to be $10 which is absurd. The main meals themselves were horrible. Completely bland, barely any taste. No seasoning and was definitely not fresh at all. Seemed like it was frozen or re-heated food. Then all of the sudden some man (which I believe was the manager on duty) quickly comes up to our table with a huge smile and gets pretty close to our faces and asks us how everything is then quickly walks away and does the same thing to the couple other tables that had people. Meanwhile, he completely ignores the literal trash all over the floor and tables in the entire room. He actually walked over some of the garbage on the floor to avoid stepping in it. For the service, the waitress was nice but a bit clueless and completely disappeared for long periods even though there was barely anyone else in the restaurant. Honestly, this was the most embarrassing experience I’ve ever had eating out anywhere. We honestly should’ve never sat down to eat when we saw the trash, food and dishes all over the tables. If the dining area was that dirty I can only imagine what the back of kitchen looked like. I can say will never be eating here ever again....
Read moreThe food is just ok. Very spicy everything. The grilled chicken the salsa... They give you a good helping of chips and salsa. They have like 3 of different items: tacos, fajitas, burritos,... The quesadilla is kinda small in my opinion, but is at least thick. The fajita is a huge portion, which is enough for 2 women to share at $16~. The fajita comes with 3 choices of beans or add a 2nd helping of rice. Then peppers and onions. The cold plate comes with cheese, lettuce, tomato, guacamole and sour cream. The big issue is that this large meal comes with only 4 of the not so good tasting tini-tiny tortillas (which barely hold anything). And don't bother asking for something to not be included with the setup, because they will just mush up everything on one plate and say they "put it on the side" as seen in the picture with cheese. They should put the sauces on the side in a tub, not over everything. The staff is ok, nice I guess, but impatient for ordering.
11/13/18 Re: Tio, If you read my post, it stated that I did ask for no cheese. Then it came back as "on the side", but in reality was on top of the lettuce and touching the tomatoes and other cold items. I'm lactose intolerant so I cannot have any dairy. In my personal opinion/experience with the food industry on people's preferences with any kind of dipping sauces, most people prefer it separate to add as much as they wish if at all. You lose lots of it if it is soaking into other food items that one may not use or contaminate that item if you don't...
Read moreMargaritas on Route 37 in Toms River turned out to be a really enjoyable dinner spot. From the moment I walked in, the vibe was casual and welcoming, and our server David set the tone for the whole night. He was one of those servers who just “gets it” — attentive without hovering, quick with refills, and genuinely friendly. You could tell he wanted us to have a great experience, and we did.
Food-wise, both the soft and hard tacos hit the mark. Fresh, flavorful, and loaded with the good stuff. I tried their extra spicy sauce, and wow — it wasn’t playing around. It had that deep, fiery kick that sneaks up on you and really knocked my socks off (in the best way). I also went for the shrimp taco upgrade, and I’m glad I did — plump, well-seasoned shrimp with just the right char.
The Cadillac margarita was solid and had a nice, smooth finish. Only drawback was I ordered it straight up, but it came without being chilled, so it lost just a point in the presentation department. Speaking of presentation, the guacamole was tasty and clearly made fresh, but the portion felt a little light — more of a small pile on a plate than the big bowl I like to dip into. Still, I scraped every last bit because it was that good.
Between the warm atmosphere, the quality of the food, and David’s excellent service, I left full, happy, and planning my next visit. If you go, do yourself a favor and try the shrimp tacos and that extra spicy sauce — just be ready...
