At the much-anticipated opening of Chipotle in Tooele, I had high hopes for a seamless and satisfying experience, yet I left with a sense of cautious disappointment. Chipotle, a beloved fast-casual chain known for its consistency, fell short of the mark at this new location.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by a manageable line, which gradually lengthened during my wait. Despite the original fairly short size of the line, it took a full 17 minutes to make my way through, a pace more reminiscent of the nearby McDonald's than the quick service I expect from Chipotle. The soundtrack, too, failed to set the right tone for the space — while it eventually settled into a more fitting rhythm, the initial song choices were jarring and completely at odds with the atmosphere.
The real frustration came when I was informed that the restaurant had run out of white rice, with a promise that it would take 30 minutes to prepare more. For a fast-casual establishment, this is a glaring oversight. With only one container left, there was ample opportunity to start preparing more rice before reaching this shortage, thereby preventing unnecessary delays for customers.
To add to the disarray, the staff appeared disoriented, struggling to keep up with the brisk pace of the service, an issue that is often characteristic of a newly opened location still ironing out its kinks.
That said, the food itself did not disappoint. The flavors remained true to Chipotle's established standards, which was a redeeming factor amidst the operational hiccups. However, the overall experience was marred by inefficiency and lack of preparation — both of which are fixable in time.
Though I hesitate to deliver a scathing review, I cannot justify a five-star rating. The Tooele location has potential, but it requires substantial fine-tuning to meet the expectations we’ve come to associate with the Chipotle brand. With some refinement, it could eventually offer the high-quality experience that the town deserves. Until then, I remain hopeful that the team will address these growing pains and create a smoother, more...
Read moreMy in-laws took me and my husband here for lunch (which was really kind of them), and unfortunately we were disappointed by the experience.
Positives: The lady taking our orders was able to answer the questions we had about the menu. She did a really good job helping us with what we needed. Our food was ready very quickly.
Negatives: Food was overpriced and just okay tasting. It wasn't terrible by any means, but paying $75 I would expect it to be really good. We could've easily gone to Costa Vida or Cafe Rio and gotten better tasting food for cheaper. There were no booths or any areas that looked like they were meant for family dining. It was mostly just very tall bar stools (something to keep in mind if you're planning on bringing kids or if you're a shorter person). Maybe it's because more people are using Door Dash and they don't get as many people eating in anymore.
In short, it wasn't a terrible experience, but there are better...
Read moreI don’t like to complain much about food, because I’ll eat whatever i can get. First time ever at chipotle very disappointed. We’ve been told it’s like a burrito place me and mom loved and then they closed. So we thought we would try this. First walked very clean, welcoming environment, staff was very friendly, and patient with everyone. But however the food was absolutely terrible. The chicken was very fatty, the smoked brisket was very sweet. There honestly isn't much options to choose from to build a good burrito (example; ranch and other sauces rather than just salsa) there salsa that i got which had no heat they said, was wayyy to spicy, corn salsa was as to spicy. My mom and brother both said that the queso had no flavor and tasted like flour and heat. Again i don’t complain about food, I eat what am served and can get. But if there was to be more options, more sauce maybe it would a bit better, and a...
