Overall, I was really pleased with the service I received during my recent visit to GameStop. The two associates working that day were both knowledgeable and very kind. They took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly and didn’t make me feel rushed or brushed off, which I really appreciated. It made for a smooth and comfortable experience.
That said, I was a little disappointed when I brought in my Xbox One to sell and was only offered around $60 for it. I understand there’s always going to be a difference between trade-in and resale value, but it felt like a pretty big gap—especially when I saw multiple used Xbox Ones on the shelf going for close to $200. I know GameStop has to make a profit, but that kind of markup made it feel a little one-sided.
Despite that, I still left feeling positive about the visit thanks to the great customer service. The staff really did their best to help, and that goes a long way. I’ll definitely keep coming back when I need games or accessories—I just might look into other options next time I’m trading...
Read moreYou are better off going to Walmart and paying for new for a little bit more money. I went into this GameStop to buy a few games a month or so ago. When I went to the worker there to purchase them they ended up not having one of them, even though it was on display. Cool, no problem, things happen. I went in again a week later to buy more games and a controller. Again, one of the games they didn't actually have. The worker said she would put my info in for the controller purchase so that I could be in the system. When I got home the controller worked for maybe a minute before being unable to charge, no matter what I tried. I went back in the next day with the receipt she gave me to return the controller. Not only had she given me the wrong receipt but I apparently wasn't in the system and they wouldn't let me return or exchange it even though I was there the day before and the same exact worker was there both days. I'm never going to this...
Read moreI drove an hour to this location because they had a product in stock that stores closer to me didn't have. I went to for a company-wide promotion on trades and I was denied from trading my Xbox One S because the casing in the back had a tiny little crack. The purple haired girl that was working said according to the company policy that she couldn't accept my console for trade because they wouldn't be able to provide a warranty for my console. I wasn't even offered a lesser value for my console, I was just denied without question. The store advertisement is stated here: Offer valid 8/8/18 - 8/28/18. Valid toward purchase of any New Xbox One X console. Not valid toward cash trades. Trades must be in full working condition to receive full value. Defective items may be eligible for trade at a lesser value. Extremely frustrating experience and very poor customer service. I won't even consider returning to the store for...
