This has been one of our favorite restaurants and we have gone to this place for years and always order the chicken Greek gyro. Tonight we ordered it to go. We talked someone else into trying the chicken gyro but they had never tried the sauce. I had a conversation with the person on the phone about making sure the chicken would be plain on one of them. When we opened the box at home we saw that it was the lamb and not the chicken. I called right away and it was 7:48pm, they close at 8:00pm. They just said, "oh, we are sorry the grill is closed". I said I wanted my money back and told them I would be right there so they could refund it. When I got there they just said, "I didn't hear you say chicken". They made sure I gave every bit of food back, but we had eaten some of the soups and didn't bring the cups back. They made sure to charge us for each soup full price. l asked to speak to the owner and when he came out he looked very put out and annoyed that he had to deal with me, he could't even walk down the stairs near me so we had to have raised voices to talk acroos the room. I simply asked if he knew what happened and he said "kinda", and NEVER once appologized for the situation. He then went off on me saying he had turned the grill off for the night when I called back to tell about the problem (7:48pm) and that he had worked hard to fix the orders and now they were going to be thrown away. I was very surprised that an owner of a mom and pop restaurant would treat a customer this way. I am so sad to say that I will not be going back to...
Read moreActually this place is really good in spots in their menu. The Pita bread is great with tons of flavor. I had some dolmathes and the flavor was unique to what I've had in the past. Maybe a family recipe or something. They are pretty big compared to the dolmathes I've had in the past. Home and restaurant recipes and they seem to taste different, but still reminiscent of each other. These dolmathes are a whole different flavor and size and they are still good though. If you get the meal it isn't very much... only 3. I also tried their gyro and it was great super meaty and refreshing, but... there's always a "but" suppose, anyway the tzatziki sauce was different too, I guess they have a flavor of their own here at Damitri's. My girlfriend and I came here in March and around closing time so it was pretty cold in here almost as if they don't have any heating system. All in all I give them a 3.5 out of 5 Google...
Read moreI have no idea how this place gets any business or calls themselves a Greek restaurant. The food is horrible, the place is dirty, and it's insanely overpriced even if it was good quality. Everything is bland and and salty. The "Greek salad" is iceberg lettuce with an olive or two, a slice of roma tomato, a smidge of flavorless feta, and what I'm fairly certain was some sort of marinara for the dressing. "Pesto" pasta has slimy canned mushrooms, and the alleged pesto sauce tastes like oil, salt and maybe some parsley. The kebab is dry, flavorless, and salty. We couldn't even remotely finish our food, we had a few bites, paid, and got out of there. Don't waste your precious time and money. We were so excited to try this place and it was exceptionally...
