My husband and I used to come here more frequently because we liked the bartenders and playing pool. The fried chicken sandwich and the pork tender sandwich was what we always got and they're both really good! Bartenders were awesome. However, tonight we decided we will not be going back unless we ONLY want to play pool. The last couple visits have been pretty awful. Whether you sit at a table or the bar (we frequent the bar), the wait for food is ridiculous even if the place is fairly empty. When trying to pay the tab at the bar, you'll either have to literally flag the bartender down, or just wait about 10-15 minutes while they help other people. I understand "first come, first serve", but when you stand there and gab with coworkers or wipe some glasses down, not even looking up, or knowingly pass by me and not say a word like "I'll be with you in just a moment" thats not cool. I shouldn't have to wave my arms around like a moron to get someone's attention. To make it worse, the food tonight was probably the worst restaurant food ive ever had. I usually get the breaded chicken sandwich and tonight I got a piece of chicken that covered about only 1/2 of the HUGE amount of bun, the chicken itself was disgusting. It was so fatty and grisely I could barely cut through it with the knife. Biting into it felt like I was biting into raw chicken it was so rubbery. I thought maybe it was just that spot but when trying to cut through the rest, I discovered it definitely was just a giant piece of chicken grisel. Deep fried. My husband's fries tasted like cinnamon for some reason? And later on when we decided to ditch the food and play pool, I ordered mozzarella sticks because I was still hungry and they never came. Food usually takes a while so I didn't think to check with the waitress, but after 2 games of pool we just gave up. Eventually we went and paid the bill and when I asked about the cheese sticks the bartender said something like I'm really sorry, I was being yelled at by so many people earlier, I forgot. Seriously?? I get customer service can be rough and people aren't always patient or nice but... She really didn't seem to care. Didn't offer anything to make up for it. Just gave me my check and went on with chatting with an employee who had recently clocked off and grabbed a beer. Not worth the $45 we spent. Only good thing I could say is that my husband complimented the drink she made for him. Thats...
Read moreMoved to Topeka a little over a year ago. This place was recommended by a mbr of the community. I don't normally right reviews and even slept on it and still woke up angry and disappointed. Kendall has no personality as a bartender. Gave not even a hint that she was even happy to be there let alone making us feel welcomed. Made both our drinks incorrectly. Never apologized. I got a shot of gin on ice and a chelada. She didn't roll the chelada so when I poured it it wasn't mixed correctly. I tried explaining nicely the difference and she told me I could of done it myself. I don't know how she thought that was gonna happen with an opened can but she was slow as *uck and couldn't comprehend how to mix a black cherry rum pineapple juice and white monster. In other words even with the simplest instructions she was not intelligent nor friendly enough to comprehend. She gave me my change and told me 'We were not to come back'. No tip there and no brainier on not returning! Worse service and attitude and if I was allowed a few cuss words on here I surely would. My advise is service always with a smile and Sunday is suppose to be Funday....customers were friendly and advised typical of this bartender. I don't recommend Kendal stay in a customer service position. Remember the line from Pretty Woman when Julia Roberts went shopping and they wouldn't wait on her and she went back after shopping with all her bags and said Big Mistake! I also come from a place where under 21 is not allowed to sit at the bar and there were several kids at the bar, maybe ok in an establishment that...
Read moreFrom the moment the group sat down the waitress made us aware there supply truck never arrived so they were out of a lot of their normal items and drinks . No big deal . asked for a drink menu was told they donât have them . So she recommended a drink which I accepted . While waiting for drinks we ordered some starters . To which we were all pretty disappointed . Barn balls had very little ingredients besides hashbrowns might as well call them that if you ask me . Someone else in the group had to continue changing his drink of choice for the simple fact they kept running out everything ordered . The most pleasant experience was the fact that there was a dog in the bar .. even though itâs disgusting to think about , he was very sweet and I enjoyed his presence even though every time I tried to pet said dog the owner would immediately call him back.. why would you have him running around if he canât be pet? Or is it just the simple fact that a black person was petting him ? Either way the only decent food was the cheese fries and the wings were ok . Sauce couldâve been better . I honestly wouldâve gave 0s across the board if I couldâve but I know the waitress isnât to be blamed , she was attentive . Bartender not so much. The craziest part about it is this work group had the most people in the bar at the time and couldâve easily spent hundreds of dollars here and be regulars, But simply for the lack of service and food choice I guarantee we will...
