so bothered by an experience on wednesday that it’s compelled me to write my first google review which is… embarrassing. i’m post-surgery right now on a strict diet and was recommended low-sodium broth packets i consume throughout the day by my care provider. before a last minute meeting with a study group here, i mixed one of these packets with water from juice stop next door and brought it in to drink throughout the group. mind you, we were in a corner, with our backs turned to the entire cafe. i was approached 30 minutes in by one gal (doing her job) who said, “i’m sorry to say this, but we don’t allow outside food or drink.” this request was totally reasonable, understanding that this is a rule at most businesses. because this was prescribed, i didn’t want to throw it out, and i went ahead and set it under a seat so i could later get up and transfer it to a different cup when i needed it next and so people around us didn’t see the juice stop label (i guess? god forbid LMAO). this maneuver was not appreciated by whatever other employee was on a rotten power trip because she strutted up to the table within 30 seconds and said, “yeah so you can’t have that out AT ALL.” our table just kind of sat and stared at each other knowing we had collectively bought like 4 items from them and that this cup of water and BROTH (😭) wasn’t affecting her or the other employees, she was just so excited to strike at a chance to be rude. humiliating and painfully funny looking back. i just got up and left because what is even the point in trying to explain a plastic cup with a post-surgical mix in it to someone that insolent. work on your employment pool— i beg.

Read moreCoffees great and the employee's are awesome.
They have weekly bands, and a good atmosphere, I've never attended a weekend band night where I felt unwanted, except when the owner was there.
Seriously, watch out for the owner.
She's the worst part of the place.
She's short tempered and often refuses to make drinks as requested, and don't even think about getting your coffee the way you normally do if you turn in a "free card".
She's refuses to make it the way you'd normally order it and will only make it the way its 'printed on menu'.
That means if you normally order a $7 dollar beverage, expect to walk away with a $5 version that you didn't ask for and likely don't want. She's changed the recipe to several Classic Bean Specials and they're disgusting.
Honestly, if it weren't for the owner, this place would be a...
Read moreI went to work on my masters coursework this morning. It was so nice out in the shade so I grabbed one of their tables outside. I wasn’t quite ready to order anything yet so I just sat and did some homework for a while. A man comes outside (I am the only person sitting at the outside tables besides one other person) and tells me “you have to leave because you haven’t purchased anything. These tables are not owned by fairlawn plaza, they’re owned by Classic Bean and if you aren’t going to purchase anything you need to leave.” Pretty disappointed as I was just focused on my school work and hadn’t gotten up to order anything yet. I won’t be going back and I’m so glad I didn’t order anything.
PS, whoever it was that came out and told me to leave needs a...
