West Ridge Lanes Family Fun — Attraction in Topeka

We arrived here in the afternoon of December 27, 2018 to bowl with 11 family members for an fun after-Christmas get-together. Several of us were from out of town and were planning for an afternoon of fun, food and family. We all pre-paid for 2 games. Halfway through our second game, one of the 2 lanes we were using stopped and the screen said something to the effect that our game was over, although we still had 4 rounds left to play. We went and talked to the desk and they appeared to not know why our game stopped. Shortly thereafter, the "manager" asked us to show all of our receipts and accused of not paying. I told her that yes, we all pre-paid, and all of us but one (who payed cash) showed her our receipts for paying for 2 games each. Long story short, we spent over $150 at this establishment and were not able to play the games we paid for. We were treated disrespectfully, and when I demanded that she refund my sister (who paid for 9 of the 11 people), the "manager" (short stocky female) asked me to leave and said it was "none of my business." I asked her for her name and she said she didn't have to give me my name. I walked over the the snack bar and talked to the young man (who had overheard the ordeal) and he refused to give me HIS name, and also refused to give me hers and just said she was "the manager." Cook and Bartender get a 5 star for service and quality. They were very helpful, kind, respectful, and the food was delicious.

Reason for 3 stars is the rest was very lackluster. The arcade is insanely expensive with their cards, and playing most of the games with another person requires two separate cards, or two swipes with the same card, essentially doubling the price for a single game. Hard pass.

Finally, horrible experience with the Go-Kart staff member. We got there around closing, and that was all well and good, we didn't pester the guy, but as soon as he saw us he gave the dirtiest look our way, felt like an inconvenience just for being outside. Afterwards, he walked past us in the arcade with the same look, so we just left without getting any prizes at all. Aside from that one rude staff, everyone else was great, bowling is very fun and reasonably priced, but the arcade is a rip-off and the staff for the arcade and Go-karts are...

Full disclosure, we did not bowl, we visited strictly for the miniature golf, but found the place to be clean, well ventilated and enjoyable. The bowling alley was nice, well lit, many food options, with a full sit in bar for those who enjoy those amenities. The mini golf was in the back. We checked in at the main desk and were provided all items from there. The course is in excellent condition and very fun. We visited on a very cold, breezy day but still found this to be a great course. The water features had been drained and were wrapped for the winter, it was obvious that they are very nice during the regular season. There is only one course and it is $9/person/round. I did think, for the local area, this might be on the high side, but we did thoroughly enjoy the course and would recommend the overall experience presented at this facility.
