Wings Etc. — Restaurant in Topeka

When I came in to wings, etc. in Topeka, the service was not great. They didn’t even have a host so I had to wait at the door for a long time When there were two servers, standing at the server station right next to the door talking. So it immediately started badly. When we got to our section, the service did not get any better. The girl was very blunt and just short she acted like she didn’t want to be there and she couldn’t care less about the way she treated me and my family and how she represents her place of work. The food was good so I can’t complain about that at all. I will say my server didn’t mess up on our order or drinks. She just took a long time to refill them sometimes and would be talking VERY loudly about her personal drama with another staff member when we would need refills and would be waiting on our check. And I mean her drama was super unprofessional she was talking about retaliation towards someone and breaking their things, not wanting to get caught. Are you kidding me right now??? There were dirty tables in my section as well. Our table was clean but the booths all had crumbs in the corners and on the seats. They have no cushions either which isn’t the most comfortable but makes them very easy to clean so there’s really no reason I had to...

Very good wings. Reminds me of topeka pizza's wings before they burnt down. However as a first impression, being my first time there. I ordered over the phone for carry out and was told 15 minutes. Which I was shocked. But got there in 20 minutes and still had to wait another 20 minutes... no biggie. Got home and realized they left out my daughter's kids wings, so had to drive all the way back. Figured they would of tried to make it right by throwing a few more fries or a couple glorified chicken nuggets. Got back home and realized I have 9 cups of ranch and was suppose to have 3 blue cheese, and 2 ranch. But looked at my wings which was suppose to be tweener mixed with garlic parm and only 1 wing had the parm on it. I may come back because as I said the wings were good. But for a place that wasn't even busy, it seemed like the staff is lost.

Or maybe I'm just spoiled from Hooters, where the wings aren't the greatest but the customer service is great and they make it right...

I first came across Wings Etc in Springfield MO. The atmosphere was energetic and fun and the food amazing. So when I found one in Topeka I was very excited! But this location doesn't quite bring the same quality and atmosphere. It's usually pretty quiet in the restaurant so it's more low energy. The service isn't bad, they greet you and seat you quickly and the servers are pretty attentive.

The food is where things drop a bit. I had the Baron twice in Springfield because of how good it was. Here it's more dry and less dynamic. The wings have a tendency to be a little overcooked but are overall pretty tasty. If they could find a way to bring the food quality over from their other location, I'd be telling everyone to stop in.

Overall it's not too shabby though. Good place to stop in and grab a drink (though I can't recommend the margaritas because they are mostly syrup) and some decent food. Not a place I'll continue to utilize...
