Hog Wild Pit Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in Topeka

I have gone to this location several times and they have always made me sliced brisket sandwiches,which I love. Typically the brisket is always chopped, however they have always sliced some for me when requested. Today, on my way to work, and already running late, I thought I would go through the drive thru and grab a quick sliced brisket sandwich, only to be told NO, they absolutely would not and have never made me a sliced brisket sandwich. They asked if I wanted to talk to the manager and I said yes. The manager tells me that they have never done that and never would!! Come to find out not only is he the manager he is also part-owner! Instead of trying to make a customer happy, he flat out refused to make the sandwich for me and was laughing about it with his employees. So, let's recap shall we? 1.) I was running late as it was 2.) Stopped at Hog Wild to get a yummy sliced brisket sandwich for my dinner 3.) Was told absolutely not by the employee on drive 4.) Had manager/owner refuse to make me a sliced brisket sandwich and laugh at me. 5.)Had to go to work without my dinner!! 6.) Will NEVER eat here again and will tell every single person I know about this experience.. I have managed a bbq restaurant and know full well they could have pulled out a freshly smoked brisket and sliced off some meat for me. Instead it was more important for this "manager/owner" to be right than to make a customer happy. I repeat, I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN!!!! (The only reason I put 1 star is...

Maybe I'm being picky but I go inside to order. I'm with someone. They order first and pay separately from me. I order a 1/2 lb of pulled pork and medium/pint sized coleslaw. I am told the total and I use tap to pay and pay. Right after I pay the guy who rang me up says "oh wait, I charged you for a individual coleslaw not a pint. Hold on." He walks away and goes to get someone. Now mind you, the individual size of coleslaw was $2.79 if I remember right. The medium/pint size was $5.89. A man comes to the register and after several minutes of wasting my time over a couple of bucks, refunds the first transaction and rings it all up again with the medium/pint size. When I go to pay it wouldn't go thru. The reason why it wouldn't go thru was because I had limited funds (yes I'm a broke b**) You don't get your returned funds back immediately as most people know. So I didn't have enough money now because of their screw up. Luckily had enough money on a different card to use and was able to get my food. All of this unnecessary time wasted and (embarrassment on my part) over a couple of dollars. Now they have a nice review and a bitter customer that will not be going back anytime soon. Good job guys. Now having said that......The food is ok. 3 star on the food. The other person I was with had cold half cooked fries with a full restaurant and drive thru. Idk how that's...

Listen, me and my man moved here from our native Kansas City about two months ago...we weren't sure what we wanted to eat tonight we went here since it was close. We are so glad we did! We both got the Carolina pulled pork with no slaw on it as a combo. He got the potato salad I got the beans. The meat is the star here! Again we are from Kansas City so we have high standards and hope for our BBQ being good lol . The sandwiches were better than most of the places in KC! The sides were just ok. Good but we will probably just get meat here and have our own sides next time. The atmosphere was great and everyone was friendly the dining area was very clean and laid back and simple but still very nice! The sauce..OMG so good. We tried all of them one is original the medium is a bit more sweet and or tangy and the spicy isn't too spicy but has a kick. I have a lower spice tolerance and I can take it :) Keep it up y'all we will be back 😁 total is was $25 for 2 large combos..not bad at all . Next time we definitely will...
