We went there at 4 pm Tuesday. Few people were there. The service was poor. The food was worse. I ordered Fish And Chips off their menu. If there was 3 oz of fish in a dinner plate it would be streching it. I received 4 planks of heavily breaded something. They stated cod. The pieces were measured as 1 x 3/4 inch by 4 inches long. The coating was heavily coated twice the thickness of the fish inside. It was like eating fried bread with no taste. The fish was so thin and small there was no fish flavor. The breading was not cooked to crisp but was doughy and white next to the paltry fish serving. Their special sauce was nothing more than warm mayo with some hot dog relish added. This tarter was disgusting. Truthfully, the tarter had more taste than the fish. Although, I have to admit, their fries were very good. I would order fries and just eat them as a side. They were served hot, unlike the fish. Additionally, the staff kept changing the music and not letting songs play through. It was an annoying audio experience for the hour we were there. They have a different take on bread puding. They substitued vanilla pudding for a rum pastry cream and dunked about 3 pieces of bread in it and placed it in a goblet like a trifle. Then heated the whole thing in a mircrowave to scalding and served it. It bruned my mates mouth. I had the cheese cake with strawberry sauce. The cheese cake was good but the sauce was thin with no thickness. It formed a lake of red runiness on the plate and presentation was severely lacking. We went there thinking to test the food and atmosphere for an event of 50 people. It has proved not to be an option. Giving this place one star is a compliment that intoxication would not...
Read moreI am adding an update to my post 2 years ago. We have come here regularly over the years and it has always had fantastic food. You could not find a better chicken fried steak anywhere in town and the chicken strips were always a favorite of mine as well. I noticed sometime back the price of the chicken fried steak kept going up until it actually doubled in price all while the portion size decreased by half. A chicken fried steak reached almost $20! Now of course all of the prices have risen substantially, but none as much as this item. Well tonight I found out they don't sell it anymore and I can see why. But it was such a good quality. Previously the atmosphere was good and they were always busy. However the last few times we have came here, we have noticed fewer and fewer people. Tonight we ordered fish and chips and chicken strips. I have to say, they both had absolutely no flavor at all. They were both grease soaked and left an after taste in our mouths. We are so disappointed that the Celtic Fox we knew for so long, no longer exist. The place seems to have put more into updating the look, which was not needed and totally downgraded the menu! Very sad to say we will not be back.
It was Friday night and they were extremely busy. They did a fantastic job getting people in and out even with the computer system freezing up on them. The staff stayed focused and upbeat, they were great! The food was fantastic as always. We had the fish and chips and country fried steak. Delicious! The only thing they need to work on, is the method in which they handle incoming customers when they are that busy. The hostess was not tracking customers so she could seat them in...
Read moreI ordered delivery from this establishment, and while I didn't go in person, the food was good and well-packaged. However, I was disappointed that I requested white gravy, but when the order arrived, there wasn't enough to cover the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. Another person in my order wanted gravy for their French fries, and while I understand they combined both types in the same container, I think more than half a cup is needed for a proper serving.
I ended up having to make extra gravy at home, which defeated the purpose of not wanting to cook. Luckily, gravy is easy to make. Given that the appetizer and two dinners, along with the tip and delivery fee, came to almost $80, I really shouldn't have to make my own gravy.
The food was a bit bland overall. The cheese curds were really good, but the fried pickles and onion straws in the sampler appetizer were just okay. I would likely visit in person and order again, but I’ll be more explicit in my instructions next time to ensure I get something closer to...
