Great Burgers and an Awesome Crew Member

My go-to, fast food burgers have been at Carl’s for years because they taste great. Although they are also consistently prepared well at other Carl’s stores I’ve been to, what makes this one special at 24010 Hawthorne Boulevard is an employee named Maria.

She is there on Saturdays when I often take my mom for our burger fix. Besides moving quickly and being efficient, she’s always very friendly. Plus, she remembers our preferences from previous visits. For example, when I order a single drink, she always hands me two straws, knowing my mom and I will share it.

I was especially impressed with her one day when their computer system for the registers went down. When I pulled into the drive-thru to order, she said through the speaker that they could not give any receipts and asked if that was okay. I said sure, and she took my order. When I pulled up to the window to pay and get my food, she had already used a calculator to total my order manually. This gal kept the store open and kept taking orders even as the company computer system was down! Wow! I've been going to this location for a while since I work next to it. Probably few times a week. I never really had an issue with the place. Food quality always good especially for a fast food. Yes I know you want the grilled onions and no salt, but it's a fastfood place not really a dine in burger place. There are other restaurants for that. Why does it matter they are Hispanic? They mess up, oh well if you pay attention; their kitchen is very hot. Try work 6 to 8 hours in it.. The managers always seem to be on top of the things. Food sometimes done in no time, which helps me to save time on my 30 min lunch to eat. Their Jalapeno burger, and Spicey Western Bacon is very tasty. Yes it's a bit expensive, but I think it's better than In n Out. They've been up to date with requirements for covid. I was astonished to find that there's no longer a cart with the peppers and cilantro and salsa selections or onions, etc., considering that this fast food stop doubles as a 'Green Burrito' restaurant.

I found myself asking for my money back when it was apparent they no longer carried any of these condiments and promptly left for a real Mexican restaurant.

This used to be a class act for a fast food stop but now they don't even have the items that everyone expects when dining on this ethnic cuisine.
