I used to Love shopping in this market, and their Iranian food. Unfortunately, I do not feel this way anymore. Customer service seems it is not a priority anymore in this place. Let me explain: In the last two years I have come here to order whitefish for the celebration of 'Noorooz', In both occasions the manager, 'owner' has taken the order, written my name and phone number and promised me fish for Noorooz; yet, in both occasions when I come to pick up the fish, he tells me he did not get any. Never bother to call me to let me know, and when I went there to get the fish, the owner, manager simply said he did not get any fish, even though he eagerly promised he would have it for me. This year 2022, I went in again for the fish I ordered, and was told again they didn't have it. then I saw the cooks preparing lots fish to fry for sale in their restaurant; so I went to order some fried fish, and they told me they could not sell me any. Now, this just happened last Saturday, March 19, 2022. I was shocked, and I could not believe it. They refused to sell me a few pieces of fried fish; yet, they had a lot. I can only deduct, that they have preferential customers. I was not one of those for sure. I have been a good customer of this place for years now, but I wont give this business no even a penny ever again. This is the second time the same incident has happened, so I am not being unreasonable, the first time I let it Slide, but a second, time the same line, it is inadmissible. I would simply have to drive a bit to get Iranian food than support this commerce. You lost a...
Read moreThe very best! (coming from someone who was raised on koobideh)
Moving to Palos Verdes a little over a year ago, we were entirely new to the area and didn't have any go-to places. I was so thrilled to learn we were just up the street from a Persian market that also had a kitchen. Excitedly I ordered koobideh with little to no expectations, as I was just happy to be so close to Persian food. Not only was I warmly welcomed as though I had been going there for years, but the koobideh was phenomenal. So fresh and juicy and served with the softest, tastiest rice. On top of their koobideh, their barg is out of this world (WAY better than Raffi's) and their joojeh kabob (aka boneless chicken) is actually the best we've ever had. Seriously.
When it came time for our wedding, we wanted Persian food represented and there was only one place we would entrust. Working with Fardad and his team was a dream -- he was kind, joyful, thorough, and most of all executed with absolute precision, serving over 300 people with food as high quality as when you order just for yourself. We had other food options in an effort to appeal to everyone, and yet still the only food that was eaten entirely was Saffron Food Mart's catering. People were talking about it all night. It was the first time having Persian food for many people there and it filled me with pride to see not only the first timers enjoy it so much, but also to see how much all of my Iranian friends and family loved it as well. THANK YOU FARDAD, AKHTAR, AND THE ENTIRE SAFFRON FOOD MART TEAM. we love...
Read moreOn Sunday night my husband picked up lamb shank and spinach polo from here, this place was recommended to him. He picked up one plate for me, to share with my son, since it should be enough for two. The lamb shank was tiny and cold, (we live less than two minutes away) and my son complained it had no flavor. The marrow inside the shank revealed that it could have been fresher. The bread was super stale. There was plenty of rice, but it apparently had been sitting around all day, because the spinach had turned bitter so we could not fill up on rice after eating our tiny bit of lamb. I have NEVER been hungry after eating Persian food but this was close to inedible. Oh. The onion was FINE. (no bread to eat it with though since it was stale)
To the owners: I see you received at least 3 one-star reviews this week (including mine). Something to...
