El Burrito Jr Inc #5 — Restaurant in Torrance

Ok I'm only giving this location 4 stars. They said they had a shortage so I couldn't have guacamole. That's weird. I'd rather she told me they were out. I felt like that kid who wasn't picked for sports. Anyway, back to reality. I got chicken tacos I'm allergic to tomato so no salsa. The chicken was maybe boiled there was ZERO seasoning. The chips were burnt. I have them 4 stars because I know they have great burritos and enchiladas etc.. just make sure you order stuff w sauce or salsa if you get chicken tacos they may be plain. This El Burrito Jr. Does have a dining room. That's nice. It's real simple but clean. You can sit down and they will come take your order rather than order at the window first. Tacos are 2 bucks on Taco Tuesday so there's that too. The people are nice rhat work there and there is Walteria park behind the restaurant if you feel like taking it out and having a picnic. I ordered a chili relleno, when it came it looked like nothing I had ever seen. It was covered in a brown sauce as in seen in some of the photos. I tried it anyway only to discover that it was layered. Bottom was a thin layer of hard scrambled egg, next was a thin layer of a chili, then a layer of cheese, followed by the thick brown sauce. The cheese was not completely melted and was obviously the same as can be bought in the supermarket as "Four cheese Mexican blend."

I tried eating it anyway. UGH!! I called the manager and asked where the stuffed chili was. He said that that is the way that they make.

I had ordered a soft taco also, it was acceptable and I ate it as I was hungry. When I went to pay for the meal, the manager waived the charge ($5.85, expensive!) for the uneaten chili rellano (three forkfulls tried). That's why I gave them an extra star.

They have a nice looking menu with fish plates, but they were expensive.

Very odd to relieve a burrito freshly ordered and wrapped in foil and still have it room temperature. The cheese enchiladas were gross and the cheese was not melted and our order got smashed by poor packaging. 😫 Update January 2023: food is still mediocre and warm never hot as it should be. Buying 2 meals, 4 tacos and a quesadilla with 2 drinks should never cost over $70 at a place like this, never. I got a single Pepsi to go that cost me nearly $4 and half the cup was ice smh basically you get less than one 12oz can of pepsi for almost $4.
