This was absolutely not authentic Mexican food. But if you expect americanized mexican food, then it was okay. I hated celery in tacos though.. Celery flavor is just too strong to be in tacos. Either way, I was very shocked. Anyhow, I do not mean bad food but because we were expecting Mexican food, it was totally not what we expected. Waitress, server, cashier multitasking lady was extremely nice and hard working and we loved her very much. It was nice mexican kinda atmosphere and really liked inside the restaurant. Shredded beef burrito did not have celery and it tasted okay but we have had better ones. Actually Chipotle burrito is better... Beef and chicken tacos were fried and very oily and yes, celery, I won't forget you.... (FYI. I do like celery but not in tacos...) Rice and beans were tasty and thought they were delicious. Chips and salsa: salsa tasted like spaghetti marinara sauce but not bad. Cheese quesadilla was okay. We tried spicy salsa. These salsa was authentic. Seriously spicy so be careful. So I put three stars because I liked the lady there and the restaurant was cute.... Probably I will not go...
Read moreWe went there the other night for dinner and we're very disappointed. We had been there once before about a year or year-and-a-half ago something like that and it was actually pretty good. But the other night when we went I don't know if it's new owners and or cook or what but the food was horrible my boyfriend said he will never take me there again ever. Beside the food tasting bad when the plates were put down in front of us they looked nasty it looked like everything was just thrown on the plate you couldn't figure out where the beans were were the rice was or where the enchiladas were. Everything was just thrown on the plate all over everywhere there was no separation of the items . The presentation to begin with did not look appetizing. The service was fine. And the atmosphere was nice. But there's too many other Mexican restaurants all over Torrance Lomita area to go to this one ever again. You want good Mexican food go to the green onion down by ports of...
Read moreThis is a great neighborhood Mexican restaurant. It's small, but perfect for folks who just want some decent, local, and non-chain restaurant Mexican food. The owner, Rosa, is sweet and friendly, and enjoys giving suggestions when asked. Today I tried the beef Burria. Rosa suggested (and provided) a separate plate of fresh chopped onions, cilantro, and a very hot sauce, which she suggested I use sparingly, to add to the Burria.
It was absolutely delicious. I think this will be my "goto" meal here going forward.
I should also mention that Rosa suggested trying several different salsas with the chips and salsa. Their regular salsa is very good, but the next one up in hotness, a dark red salsa, was really good. Perhaps starting to approach more of a taco sauce; definitely with some nice bite that required this gringo to take a swig or two of water.
Highly...
