It was the most disgusting poor excuse for an Italian restaurant. My adult daughter saw it on tik tok and knows that since I am Italian and I love Italian food she suggested that my husband and I try it out. The main "sell" was cheap wine". When we entered the girls were off standish and not very welcoming. The seating was tight and extremely close to people where you have to squeeze between tables. My husband ordered a basic sandwich the menu said "deli meat" not what kind of meat it actually was... and it had no mention of mayonnaise. Since people DO have egg allergies we did not think to mention that we did not want any mayo on a sandwich that did not mention that it had mayo on the menu. When we received it he told the waitress and she acted like we were wrong that the menu did say mayo... she read it...there in front of us (so rude and awkward) with another waitress that acted like they wanted to POINT it out to us but it did not say mayo and then they seemed irritated that we asked for it to be made correctly. So finally we got the sandwich and the meat was hot but the bread was cold...it was horrible. I ordered the shrimp Alfredo linguine. It was disgusting. It smelled fishy GROSSSS Fresh shrimp should not smell strongly fishy; a mild, slightly salty ocean scent is what you should expect from fresh shrimp, and a strong fishy odor indicates that it has gone bad and should not be eaten. The Alfredo was curdled the cream has separated from the butter fat, resulting in a grainy, broken sauce, (you can see it in the pic I am going to post) usually caused by cooking at too high a heat or adding the cream too quickly. The entire meal was so disgusting I cannot even understand why people enjoy going there. Maybe the cheap wine. There were no Italian owners or cooks which doesn't even really mean anything because these are quality issues not cultural issues. But please stop posting that this place is authentic because it just is not. It was a little pricey considering it was slopped together rotten spoiled food. The "garlic bread" was burnt on a grill with burnt marks all over it, dry and tasted like cheap margarine instead of butter. It was definitely stale. It was during the holidays and I was so worried I was going to get food poisoning and by the way the waitresses were acting with the mayo argument we did not eat the food, we just paid and left. They looked like if we said something they were going to be insulting to us like we were trying to get a free meal or something crazy to divert the fact they serve rotten food. Sargrosssso that is what we call it. Spread the news I am not eating rotten food...
Read moreExtremely disappointing service. While I'm not a weekly regular customer by any means, I have dined at Scardino's for years. Their food is consistently excellent, and while service is sometimes hit and miss, they hit a new low today. I went in person to place a takeout order, and waited in front of the restaurant along with another lady who also happened to be waiting for her takeout. Everything was normal.
The person handling takeout called the lady's name when her food was ready. More people came and went with their takeout order, but they never called my name. Finally, I went up to the takeout booth, and saw that my order was right there on the shelf on the left side behind the takeout booth. I had to glare at the staff to get his attention, so that he could finally do the arduous task of picking up my order from the shelf, turn around, and hand it to me. They clearly knew I was waiting (they could physically see me waiting RIGHT THERE), why didn't they call my name?
It's frustrating because the only explanation I could think of is that the staff was acting out of malice. This was well before dinner rush -- the place was pretty much empty, so it's not like he was juggling multiple orders at once and happened to forget mine. My order was literally the only one on the otherwise completely empty takeout shelf. Was the difference that the lady was white, and I am a minority? Was he upset because he was expecting a 20% tip for a takeout order???
Unsurprisingly, the sauce on the pastas were all solidified from sitting on the shelf for God knows how long. I had added a tip when I prepaid for the order. I would pay $20 to get that $5 tip back -- he absolutely did not deserve that tip.
If, for some unlikely reason, I absolutely needed to order from them in the future, I will have to order via Doordash to avoid all...
Read moreWow I didn't know this little beautiful restaurant served such wonderful food❤ No wonder it was packed whenever I passed by... We ordered Hawaiian Pizza (medium) which was so delicious and the size was much bigger than we thought. Then Linguini Pescatore (bunch of seafood with tiny bit spicy red sauce with linguini) Ooh la lah, super delicious. We ordered Beef Ravioli with Alfredo Sauce from kids menu and the plate was empty before I even tried, (・_・;) so must have been delicious. Vanilla ice cream was oh so exceptional.(•ө•)♡
My pescatore dish happened to have pieces of broken clam shell so I felt a bit uncomfortable when I happened to bite some. This can happen to any customer at anytime and yeah shells can break. It happens. I notified the waiter that the broken shell made it bit difficult to devour since the dish was super delish. The manager came over right away and told me to please let them know next time so they can cook new one. It tasted good and by the time I started biting was at two thirds done so I didn't tell them. To me, it was very important to see they care about customers and I appreciate the manager very much for doing so. I already made up my mind to give this place 5 stars but then the manager came back and gave us free tiramisu. Can I just give this restaurant like 10 stars instead of 5 stars?!?! My friends recommended me this place and I am extremely glad I decided to visit tonight.
All the employees were very pleasant too!
Thank you for the...
