My original review was taken down, so I'm reposting this with toned down language. This happened in October 2022.
A guy who was getting a haircut there while I was waiting, walked right out in a fit of rage. He supposedly asked for a "high and tight" cut but was unhappy with what the hairstylist's interpretation of it. I get that differences of opinion can happen, but after he walked out, the staff made fun of the customer. Especially the hairstylist who was giving the customer the haircut. He kept calling the customer "tiny little man."
When it was my turn to get a haircut, the lady at the counter gave my turn to someone who had checked in after me. I was willing to let that slide. When it was my turn, I got David (who probably deserves a better rating as he did exactly what I asked for haircut wise). David asked me how I pronounced my name and the lady at the counter butts in mocking my name by intentionally mispronouncing it multiple times even though I corrected her. In the moment, I didn't think much of it, but as I think about it now, this is not acceptable when you're working a job that expects paying customers to tip you. The atmosphere here is charged with negativity and seems very unwelcoming. Maybe next time you're there, they'll be making a joke at your expense while charging you for it. I'm never going...
Read moreNot good. It seems the quality of haircuts at this Great Clips has gone down in recent years. I went in for a simple cut, 3 inches off with long layers and face framing. Essentially just a shorter, trimmed version of my already existing hair (my hair is long and straight). The woman who cut my hair (blonde, wavy hair) seemed in a big rush despite it not being very busy. When all was said and done, the layers were choppy, it was cut very unevenly, too much was taken off the back while not enough was done to the front, and the bottom was bluntly cut. It seems the stylist was inexperienced in cutting layers. She did not separate my hair into multiple sections and pull them up to cut, which is standard to ensure layers flow together, she did not completely brush out my hair, and she used minimal point cutting and zero thinning shears to blend the hair. She did not check to see if the front pieces were the same length (they weren't). I'm disappointed as I've had good haircuts here, but the last few have been uneven and choppy. If you normally get this type of cut, I'd advise you...
Read moreNow to be clear, I am a nice person, but this salon gave me a very bad haircut. Now, if it were just this one time, I would have let it slide, but this has been going on for the past few years. My barber this time was only actively focused on her conversation with her friend, and not my haircut. she also was very careless, waving the razor around in the air and at one point she dug the razor slightly into my ear. My hair (before the haircut) would reach up to about my mouth. My request for this haircut was that my hair be cut to about half the current size, so about my nose. But when she was done, my hair ended up less than a centimeter long. Her methods were also unsanitary; to say the least, most barbers (at other places) would put a white towel under the cloth so that none of the hair goes down your neck, or worse, into your clothes, but this barber just let it all go down without a towel. Going back to my first point, she was only really talking with her friend while cutting my hair on the side, so she didn't care to dry my hair or anything, she just left it...
