Food at the salad bar is turned over to much from one day to the next making freshness here a low requirement. Steaks are certainly not prime cuts and are at the lower end of choice cut meats and perhaps at the upper end of just being commercial beef cuts. Beef barley soup was once the main reason for going here but it appears the 'bean counters' have excluded this as well with causing the lower meat grades and the salad bar maintaining to old of ingredients in order to make more profits for the chain. It appears Sizzler at this location is going the way of the former Furrs restaurant which was attached to a former supermarket, both now out of business. Tell the bean counters (the corporate accountants) to back off of reducing the quality food at this location because it really shows no matter how good the service is, which is really good.
Came back for another meal on Friday January 10 and ordered another steak on the special with shrimp. I formerly complained about the freshness of the ingredients at the salad bar and it was markedly improved this time, but still no beef barley soup which, at one time, was a favorite of mine with you. Got chicken gumbo(I think it was) and it was very good. However, again, I was real disappointed with the steak which was to hard to cut because it had a fair amount of grizzle in it along with fat, all of which only formed, for the most part, a ball of junk in my mouth and in this condition I had to spit out most of it and could swallow some of what was left. I've come to the conclusion about the cuts of beef your getting. The shrimp was very good. On the cuts of beef generally available at restaurants being prime, choice, or commercial beef, I've come to the conclusion that your commissary is sending you only commercial beef at this location and perhaps the other cuts are reserved for other locations. Have to check this out because generally sizzler has a good reputation overall. However, at this location, as mentioned before to you, the bean counters(corporate accountants) have decided that this location can get by with serving only commercial beef. Point of fact is that I had to steady the beef very hard on my plate with the fork because it was hard to cut with me having to deal with cutting your piece of beef like I was cutting through a spongy mass of grizzle, fat, and the beef which really confirms that this is the very lowest grade of beef you use as being just commercial beef. The only other thing I can comment on is the service which with one black server is always very good, she always smiles and is real service oriented. Apparently she went on break and I had to ask another one for a refill of hot water for my tea, she did so but brought me back just tepid water in the tea which I asked her to get water that was hot. She did so and warned me to be careful because the cup was too hot. Boy oh boy, was it. It was so hot that, even with waiting for it to cool down, the cup itself, not the water, never got cool enough to drink it and then I got up and left. You need to caution your servers that when they're asked to reheat the water, they need to pour the reheated water into another cup which hasn't been in the microwave or whatever was used to reheat or the heat up of additional water and then serve the heated water in a non heated cup so the customer doesn't have to wait for a cool down of the cup itself so the now heated tea can be drunk from a cooler cup without the customer burning their lips while drinking it. So that's it for now, and as I've previously stated, I'm going to try another Sizzler location to see if they're being shorted on the beef quality there too as is now happening at this location. I see that a customer can only report a minimum one star rating and knowing this, with the complaints I've made to date, I would have originally given this location just a half star with my review which hasn't changed upon my second time here.
Please tell me you've changed from the last time I was here. Other Sizzlers don't have these problems. Am...
Read moreFirst and last time going to Sizzler Went for lunch with a co-worker. Since I've never been here before I wasn't expecting anything in particular on their menu but when we were trying to order they didn't have half of the menu available for order. We both ended up getting the bacon burger. The first server that greeted us to confirm our order was nice but the second server that brought our food not so much. I really wish I had gotten her name but she never said it. When she brought us the food I was looking at mine and I noticed something weird with my French fries and when I picked one up it was still frozen. When I made the comment to her that some of my fries were still frozen she just walked away and that was the end of the conversation. It wasn't a big deal I was just letting her know that there were frozen ones mixed with cooked ones. Really only like four of them were frozen so I'm assuming when they were refilling the fryer they just accidentally fell in but she shouldn't have just walked away. Honestly, the burgers weren't good, the onion straws that were on them tasted like plastic I took all of them off and the meat tasted old and was hard to chew. The server did come back and brought me some new french fries and when we asked her if we could get some barbecue sauce with our burgers she had major attitude about it and said they don't have barbecue sauce yet she came back and brought us barbecue sauce. She never came back to our table after that and just had attitude face anytime she walked by us and ignored us.
I'll admit that the garlic bread that the first server that was nice...
Read moreThis was my first at this Sizzler. I came with my brother. I ordered a Steak and Baked Potato along with the Unlimited Salad Bar. Was very disappointed. The Baked Potato was barely warm and it looked like it was a Baked Potato from last week. I ask the waitress if she could give me a fresh Baked Potato and she did. When she returned with another Baked Potato it was just like the first one. The Steak was so narrow, as if there was 2 steaks and you sliced them in half. The waitress asked if I wanted Sour Cream, Butter and Chives with my Baked Potato I said yes and when she returned with my food she didn't bring the Chives. My brother ordered the Steak and Lobster with a Baked Potato along with the endless Bar. His Baked Potato looked dry as well. He was very disappointed with his food too. His Lobster was the size fit for a five year old. Nothing like the picture. And to top it off the Lobster was like RUBBER. He asked for his Steak to be cooked Medium-Rare but he had a hard time cutting it. The Salad Bar had a couple of Salad Dressing which none of them were labeled. Every Salad Bar I have been to the Dressing are Labeled. For the price myself and my brother paid for this hot mess was definitely not worth it. Will NEVER return to this Sizzler AGAIN....
