The Old Moose Coffee & Events — Restaurant in Torrington

I moved to town 1 week ago and have been out for coffee 3 times. Two times to the Old Moose. They won my business beginning with the atmosphere that surrounds you as you walk on the front door. It is a clean, welcoming, open area with quite a bit of diverse seating areas (most were filled). We ordered our latte’s and sat down on one of the couches and took it all in, thinking if every place in town has the same delicious food and drinks, fast and courteous service, and is as pretty as the Old Moose is then we’ve hit the jackpot. Today when I went back I took my little guy and we put a puzzle together (they have games and puzzles on shelves) while I had a latte and he had a steamer. This will become our go to place when looking for something special to fill a Saturday morning. The owner came over and introduced himself and we learned he has children around the same age as my little guy - that sounds promising for the future. I always try to support small businesses sometimes that’s not always an easy thing to do but when the business goes out of their way to make everything as perfect as possible they sure make it easy to choose shopping local and supporting the community! I have always appreciated the warm welcoming smiles I've received from The Old Moose. I like that they take the time to employ staff from all ages and give another option for younger kids to work and learn a new skill, there is a lot more than brewing coffee that goes into being a barista, it is an art form, a craft (I know this from having been one). The staff at The Old Moose are good people that are working diligently to perfect their craft and train their staff in the same manner. The coffees I have purchased have all been well balanced with a detailed flavor profile that allows the coffee to shine through. I think it’s important that the first line of this review addresses that a flood of negative comments from an immature customer tainted what should be a 5 star business. You should definitely consider giving Old Moose a visit!

This business has a wonderful atmosphere, they really know how to make a good coffee/espresso and have been nothing but friendly.

They host in-house events that are a breath of fresh air for a rural town. My wife and I had an amazing date night in September!

I think they have done an incredible job at providing a safe, warm and positive business that gives Torrington a great modern experience.
