Came here as a tourist (as this area is a tourist town). I love to enjoy coffee wherever I go, so I was happy to be here. It was Sunday, so I had no problem waiting in the long line that was out the door. There were two people taking orders. They were slammed, which I am more than always sympathetic towards. I have worked in food service for years. I am assuming it was Cathy herself that took my order. It was probably the rudest interaction i’ve ever had in my entire life (and I am pretty young). We ordered a simple latte & black coffee. The latte tasted like if I had went to a candy store and stuffed my mouth full of candy afterwards. The black coffee tasted like straight ash from a fire. Now, I have had bad drinks, and bad service. But this service was downright rude, and honestly nasty. The young girl at the counter looked like she was about to cry due to (who I am assuming is Cathy) yelling at her during any move she would make. We gave her a nice tip and I hope she received it. As we were walking out of the establishment, we could hear other customers talking about how bad the service was too. I am just appalled of how bad it was considering they had just reopened not too long again. Not a good look for your business,...
Read moreI love discovering cute coffee places with a variety-filled menu! I thought I had found such a place in Alexandria Bay! Located conveniently on an intersection corner, and with a menu with quite a few yummy-sounding flavors.
After a drizzly boat tour, I wanted a decaf latte to warm me back up. Once I decided what flavor I wanted, I began to order my latte, and the young girl behind the counter interrupted me and said they don't serve decaf espresso. So I asked what decaf options there were, since it was 3pm and too late for me to have caffeine, and she said none. Apparently they don't serve decaf in the afternoons? In all my years of avoiding caffeine after noon, I've never encountered a coffee shop without decaf at all.
The girl gave me such attitude too. My friend turned to me after we left and made a comment about making it out of there safely, because she looked like she wanted to kill us for daring to intrude on her day. If this was my coffee shop, I'd fire her, even if she was my daughter.
This is sadly the only coffee shop in the touristy town of Alexandria Bay, and it has the potential to do so well, but it greatly disappointed me. I walked out without...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped by for coffee on our honeymoon in June. We have never had such bad service in our lives. We waited in line patently for our turn to order coffee to go. The person in front of us ordered a breakfast sandwich at what must have been their cut off time because the person taking orders and the cook exchanged some heated words. The people behind us also wanted breakfast so they asked if that guy was getting it could they also so they took his order. Two more people walked in they took their order for drinks and food. All while we waited at the counter(that we watched a lot of people order from before us). Super odd but okay. Surly we were next. Right? No. We wait another good ten minutes at the front of the line. Two more people sit down behind us and they take their order. We left. That’s the first and only time I’ve ever left a place. Horrible service. Place seemed cleanish enough. Prices are touristy. The memory of this place crosses my mind and I...
