Riverboat Bar — Restaurant in Town of Alexandria

We were debating between this restaurant and several other restaurants on the Block. I honestly wish that we chose a different restaurant. We Arrived at this restaurant shortly after getting off of the Uncle Sam boat tour. We were seated and given silverware and were then told we are out of menus and were prompted to look their menu up on our phone. No problem. I chose the soup of the night and the salad and my husband ordered the fish and chips. We waited atleast 25 minutes to be served our soup and my husband's side salad. However there were 3 other tables that were seated after us and all got their entrees and appetizers before us. The soup was horrible, very over seasoned; all I tasted was salt and black pepper. It took another 25 to 35 minutes for our entrees to be delivered to the table. I was to the point of about to get up and walk out when our food was finally brought to us. By this time I was starving. Because I couldn't eat the soup. I was presented a bowl of bacon! Yes there was salad under the bacon but there was enough bacon to cover atleast half the bowl. The server never checked in with us after bringing the entrees and didn't ask if we could use more drinks. I am being very generous with the 1 star because my husband said his fish was good. I can promise you that the next time I visit Alexandria Bay I will not be coming back here. Take your money to any of the other 8 restaurants...

Busy Saturday night and the hostess was great, beyond that was a disaster. Our mulleted server didn’t bring us straws with our drinks although all the other tables around us had them, nor silverware until after the appetizers were served and was like “oh you don’t have those.” I was very clear in my order as I needed to make a substitution due to medical reasons, he repeated it back to me and still brought me the wrong items. I asked for extra lemon for my fish and they gave me the end of the lemon with no fruit or juice in it(garbage) Our Well done burger was still raw and the medium rare burger was over done, the homemade potato chips tasted of the fish grease they were fried in. Over all more than half of our $140 bill was inedible and a disappointment with no offers of reconciliation and when our absent server finally brought me the correct item, a single French fry it was burnt so badly it wasn’t worth the wait, spent two hours and way too much money to still leave hungry. Just opened for the season. They are understaffed missing a hostess and busboy. Even with those setbacks they amazed us with their friendly service and stellar burgers. We are a family of seven with six separate orders. Every single burger was hand crafted perfection and can honestly recommend them all. Each of them were cooked to order with separate sides. The order was perfectly cooked to temperature and had a crafted appeal of a cook staff that genuinely cares about their products. Home crafted fries and chips are a nice touch.
