The Ribs were great along with the additional sauces that you can get with them. Their Spicy sauce is definitely very well fitted for the ribs and chicken I had, more specifically in the Buffalo area, which is already known for it's "Buffalo Style" spicy. Although the "sauce is the boss" with almost any meat, any good meat that's cooked well, doesn't/shouldn't require any sauce to be delicious. Should be good with or without the sauce. On that note, the ribs are great without sauce. They had a lot of natural flavor inside and you can taste the good rub they use on the outside. So, sauce is optional! They cut the ribs for you as well.
The chicken is maybe average to just above average. It wasn't dry at all. Nothing to write home to Mom about necessarily unless she asks about it. The chicken wasn't necessarily disappointing, just expected much better; just surprised it wasn't really good like the ribs. For the price I expected better.
For my sides, I had the potato salad and the baked beans.
The potato salad unfortunately was exactly the same potato salad you could buy at Walmart (across the street) or a local Deli that sells the same Nationwide brand. Taste, consistency, etc. Nothing unique or different about this potato salad whatsoever. It wasn't exactly bad however, I just expected something unique or different about it. Most restaurants or eateries may serve the same food like McD's or BK, but there's a clear difference in taste, appearance, etc. The baked beans on the other hand, we're very very good. They had their own unique taste, flavor, and everything. I never had baked beans that were like this before. I would definitely get the beans again! The bread biscuit you get with your meal was dry.
The service was good as well. For being new to the already well overcrowded (oversaturated) Buffalo restaurant food & eatery market, a good BBQ place is a nice welcome edition. The only competition I see these guys having it's probably Friday around the corner & Smokey Bones in Cheektowaga by the Galleria Mall, which might be a 20 min drive, depending on traffic. So their not exactly a couple minutes away.
Price wise, I paid $24 for a half rack ribs, small pototoe salad, medium beans & No drink. A bit pricey. I expected it to be less than $20, but I was charged extra for my 2nd side of potatoes salad. My friend had chicken and a side. Not sure how much they paid. They didn't care for the chicken due to personal preference, not because it was bad. I finished the chicken.
Overall, I would recommend this place a try for some good ribs and beans. For the price, it is a bit on the high side. For being 1 of maybe a couple of restaurants that serve BBQ, they might servive...
Read moreThere was only one employee on duty, and I could only describe his personality as distant, disgusted, surly and unfriendly. In fact it was some of the worst customer service I have ever had, I even tried to make conversation with the gentleman but it was not received warmly at all. My friend and I were starving and thought barbecue was a great option, we could put aside the bad customer service if the food was good but I have to tell you we were sorely disappointed. Presentation terrible, the food was very cold. The mac and cheese was essentially tasteless, the mashed potatoes tasted like warm dish soap. I'm a good Christian, I believe in good service and good food and it was anything but those things. We planned on dining in the restaurant and the gentleman didn't even give us an option to as he wrapped our food to go because clearly we were leaving he was having none of us being there. He had headphones on and was barely paying attention, his demeanor was listless and his eyes were placid and distant. You never know what's going on in somebody's life so I tip this man 10% and I gave him a cash tip as well and he didn't even say thank you. Whoever this person is please get rid of them because he doesn't even have basic customer service skills. I am appalled, and if this email doesn't make you ashamed I really feel sorry for the Dickey's brand. Just utter...
Read moreHonestly I was really interested in the idea of this place but it really just let me down. First off, the pickup/carryout menu states a lot of items that arent even present in the actual restaurant so I'm glad I decided to go in person because it certainly would have been a fun little surprise to hear half my order was missing. The interior is great, and the aroma is pleasant but the food certainly leaves much to be desired. I ordered a chicken and brisket plate to which both of them were cold, small -portioned, really dry, and didn't have much flavoring. The only thing that provided any sort of flavor was the sweet bbq sauce I chose and getting an extra small cup costs $1 (which honestly tastes like Kraft BBQ sauce, I could go to Dollar Tree and buy a whole bottle with that money). The mac and cheese was also okay... at least that and the potato casserole was warm. I practically spent $45 ($17 each platter + drink/tip) for subpar food. A man came to check up on us on how we were enjoying the food to which both my partner and I shyly smiled and said was fine. Overall, we ate it, but the price certainly wasn't worth what we were offered. I definitely wouldn't tell anyone I know to visit here for a good...
