Okay, here we go. We started with Calamari done more in the Japanese style than our traditional western New York/Thai versions. The squid was a larger animal. Instead of a section of a dozen tiny tentacles, each tentacle was the size of my index finger. The rings were two inches in diameter. Perfectly cooked; resistant but not rubbery. Excellent batter...very lightly seasoned with a spicy shake. Served with a sauce best described as 1000 Island-like, but piquant by nature. It was an excellent dish. My companion had the fried oyster po-boy. She raved throughout her meal. She’s picky about both oysters and po-boys! Crunchy fried oysters, with fresh sliced tomato, green pepper, onion, and a spicy house sauce in a proper roll, not a hotdog bun or sliced bread! I had the fried oyster dinner. Eight large, battered, fresh oysters served along side Cajun fries and slaw. The slaw was an interesting sweet/savory concoction of finely shredded green and red cabbage with carrot. The dressing was good, but difficult to define. The fries were excellent. Nice crunch with a tasty Cajun seasoning. To the point, however, the batter on the oysters was crunchy on the outside but never cooked through. The batter was a gooey layer between the crunch and the oyster. It didn’t affect the overall excellent flavor. In addition, however, they were totally unseasoned, with none available at any table. The only accompaniment was a container catsup...... no lemon, seafood, or other sauce. I found that odd. So, if you’re not going to season the oysters, serve some lemon wedges on the side, or a sauce. I don’t actually use seafood sauce or catsup. I ordered hot tea. It was a bag of really good black tea...I couldn’t read the writing, but so what. A small side of honey was served with the hot water! Nice. Note: I dipped my Cajun fries in the leftover honey. Don’t judge! I will go back, as I’d like to try the rice bowls, étouffée, and boiled seafood specials. Very...
Read moreWe came here around closing time (maybe 8:40pm?) for hot pot and there was barely any food left to select from in the bar. A lot of the containers were empty with no replenishment, so we had minimal toppings to choose from.
Even the sauce selections were running out with a few options empty which is unfortunate as the restaurant still had an hour before closing time. There was no bowls for the sauce so we had to ask for one for my partner.
The food however did taste nice and my partner and I did enjoy it.
Service was a hit & miss: the girl who served our table was really lovely, always happy to help us when we asked for help
We had a weird interaction with one of the girls at the counter. Some of the skin of the imitation crab came off when we were selecting our toppings, so I asked if they could take it to put in a bin (as there was no bins around us). She gave us a weird look almost like she was annoyed that we had asked and then she just stood there. It made us have a bad experience here after being excited to try it - we probably won’t be back because of it. The other girl was nice though and took it for us. But, disappointed in the first girl as it’s such a small request and I’ve worked in hospitality in the past and always go above and beyond for all my customers. It made us walk away feeling disappointed from...
Read moreI came to this place in hope of trying some great new seafood. Although there are other great fresh Seafood places in WNY, as a seafood lover I wanted to see what the hype was about @Lee's. The staff we're very friendly and accommodating. However staff isn't the problem, it's the food. Problem #1: THE SAUCE was dreadful it was way too sweet and had no flavor/seasoning besides sugar!!! I told the manager, he agreed and said they do use sugar in their recipe. #2 I ordered the duo. When I got it I was surprised to see how big the shrimp were however after tasting it, it was not fresh or clean at all!! (I have pictures to back it up) I asked the manager if myself and my date could at least get 15% off because we ate the potatoes, sausage and corn *those were edible * he was friendly but he said he could only do 10% off which was fine. At that point I wanted to pay and go get some food elsewhere plus brush my teeth. The flavors were so horrible it's not even funny. I would absolutely not be coming back to this place with all the virus talk going on you would think people would serve/cook fresh...
