EDIT: Keeping the original review for posterity. Know that it dropped from 5 to 2 stars. The food is still excellent here but something happened and they barely have any of their own beer anymore. Unless you love Genessee Ruby Red Kolsch on tap, along with other guest taps, you're coming here because it's close and you love Jay's food.
I came to the brewery for the first time tonight and was blown away at not only the quality of the food and drink, but from the service and atmosphere. One-Eyed Cat is new, like six months new, and it's not hopping yet but it absolutely should be.
On a Friday night, there weren't many folks there but that didn't make the quality dip any. I didn't get the name of the bartenders but it was a 28 year old black male (we played an age guessing game) and a female with vibrant green hair, who both were outstanding to everyone. There wasn't a moment they weren't participating in conversation or offering to have our party taste another beer. Just excellent service and care.
I experienced a separate tap dedicated to stouts that was served at exactly 61 degrees. Now I've been to a ton of breweries and man, I've not experienced anything like this before. The tables, chairs, and bathrooms were annoying the cleanest I've seen, and the schedule showcased live music and other specials on upcoming dates. If I didn't know any better, I'd say this place was bursting at the seams with people, but hopefully that's coming soon.
It's a small place but it's comfy with plenty of room to move around. If it ever did get super busy it would be tough to get to the bar, but hey, when that happens we can talk about it then. Also, Williamsville is notoriously bad for parking but this place has several exits and it's own parking lot! If that's overflowing then there's street parking adjacent to it, which is perfect!
I very rarely rate new breweries so high, but the quality here cannot be denied. I wish the best for this place and will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStopped in for the first time last night and I was thoroughly impressed! Nice quiet, quaint, and cozy spot tucked away in the middle of Williamsville. Very welcoming, homey feel to the place - drank pretty much all of the lagers that they had to offer, my favorite being the german pilsner/lager āPillow Talkā. This beer had the right balance of both malt and hop character.
Kenzie the bartender was quick, attentive, and super friendly. She is definitely an asset to the business. I didnāt eat anything besides the french fries but the fries were tasty and honestly all of the food smelled and looked very good. I think that the kitchen and the brewery/taproom might be two separate businesses so that might be something to consider upon arrival but as I said before, the food that I had was good and everything that I saw come out of the kitchen looked on par with the food that I had.
My only complaint about this place would be the parking/parking lot or lack thereof. I definitely will be back, this spot would honestly is an ideal place to watch a Bills game or grab a drink/bite to eat after...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHave driven by a lot of times and never had the opportunity to check it out. Happened to be up in that direction and noticed a nice outdoor patio with some cozy lighting and a fire pit. So we had to stop in and check it out.
I was impressed with the indoor space. Bigger than I thought. The outside has an older ambiance, whereas the inside has a more modern feel. Our bartender was really friendly and the staff there did a great job.
The drinks are reasonable. There is a BBQ restaurant attached/inside the space that was only serving lite snacks when we were there. So I can only speak to the beer and seltzer that we had. Both were really good! If you want a place to relax on a patio or inside, it's a solid option.
The only things preventing it from being a five star is just some aesthetics / touch-up work, cleaning the gutters that had little trees starting to grow out of them, etc. Small things. But definitely...
