Let me start off by saying the food is pretty good overall, what few things I could try. Initially Iād planned to try several menu items for my first time, however when my fiancĆØ showed up to order, they were out of almost everything. To be fair, it was a half hour til close, but thatās not my issue. My issue is, after giving him the options of what they had left to chose from, he ordered. In the hour he was to wait in store because they wouldnāt allow call in orders or delivery orders, they continued to run out of food to the point where we had to change our order SIX TIMES. I got a single piece of chicken Iād originally asked for, and the rest of the meal was not stuff I had asked for. By the time he finally got our food, they had thrown fried chicken in as my protein without notifying him first because they had ran out of jerk chicken. In the hour he was waiting there, they were supposed to have closed at 7:30 but continued to take orders up until the moment he left at 8:15, which is bizarre if you have almost nothing available on the menu. Multiple cooks even commented wondering why they were still taking orders. Anyways. The Mac and cheese has great potential to be good, however I found it was just a tad too salty to really enjoy. The Rasta pasta is pretty good and has a little heat to it which I appreciate and isnāt overly creamy. The fried chicken is pretty good for what it is as well. The single piece of jerk chicken I received was good, nice and spicy and a little bit sweet. My partner got the same thing as me except honey bbq chicken wings, which I liked because they werenāt drenched in sauce or soggy. Last but not least we got honey cornbread which was mediocre in my opinion. Normally Iād give 3 stars due to the customer service and the Mac and cheese, but because we came so close to closing I will be somewhat forgiving. I will give this establishment another chance at a more optimal time, hopefully their customer service and ability to know when their food isnāt going to make it to a customers...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreiām going to give yāall the run down of this establishment! i want to start this off with im a big foodie. me and my friends travel place to place all the time after finding things on the internet to try. itās always never as good as it looks, or not worth the trip. but let me tell you, this time was so different!
at angieās youāre going to wait for your food. my time from getting there to leaving with my food was about an hour and a half. but i must tell youā¦.this food is WORTH THE WAIT. The food is absolutely phenomenal. and thatās not all thatās phenomenal. Angie and her staff are kind, patient, and have the greatest attitudes for people who are so busy! They are kind, and I had such a positive experience with everyone i encountered behind the counter.
Nowā¦we had a variety of food. Mac and cheese was the best mac and cheese iāve ever had. mac and cheese always sounds better than it will tasteā¦except when itās angieās. their mac and cheese tastes so good youāll be crying from gratitude. i had lemon pepper wingsā¦changed my life. this is a homemade seasoning and you can absolutely tell. They were hot, crispy, and fresh in the best way. My mouth is watering! We had candied yamsā¦.rated 10/10 and thatās a rare rating from us. We had the philly cheesesteak egg rolls and this was good but i wish i went on a day with jerk chicken and i will be back for those! My friend had the lobster bites and she was in heaven the whole time! The fried shrimp was fresh and tasty, and we had honey cornbread, banana bread pudding for dessert which was so good. all you heard in the car was smacking lips and heads nodding in delight.
As I said, Iām always disappointed by places who have so much hype. i had to drive an hour to try out angieāsā¦But i have never been pleasantly surprised by the sweet humans and sweet food like i was at this place. If you are reading this thinking to yourself āis it worth the hype to try it out?ā take what iām sayingā¦.ABSOLUTELY YES. go try this food out because itās not something...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSaturday night (August 3rd) I decided to finally pay a visit to Angie's. I had seen the restaurant before visiting a friend nearby and had been meaning to try them out. The first thing I noticed and loved about Angie's was the togetherness of the staff. Everyone seemed to enjoy each other which made for a positive atmosphere. The music helped further enhance the ambiance, being an old head myself, the nostalgia was on a 100. Hearing old Outkast and Wu-Tang had me on cloud 9. On to the food. I ordered their fried whiting with mac & cheese and rasta pasta, along with their homemade lemonade. The portions were massive, my order could definitely feed 2-3 people easy. That isn't a complaint. I don't eat fish regularly, but their fried whiting has been on my mind ever since and reminded me how good fish can be. The mac & cheese was good, not the best I've ever had but a strong 7 out of 10. The rasta pasta was delicious. The only thing negative I have to say is that it wasn't spicy, that was the first time I have had rasta pasta that wasn't. But, that is a minor negative, the flavor was on point. Next summer when my friends have another get together, I'm definitely bringing something from Angie's with me. The lemonade was also delicious. It struck the right balance of sweetness. I'm not sure how they do it, I'll ask next time I go, though I don't expect to be told their secret. Before I forget, this is a takeout restaurant, not...
