UPDATED REVIEW - it’s been 2 years since my original review which I never received any sort of acknowledgement from the establishment for and I went today with my family and ate in the restaurant. Food was pretty good. Burgers and beverages were small and price for such a small beverage was crazy. Beverages were never asked if refills were wanted or needed. Got the steak chili but meat was a bit thick and chewy for my liking. Tomato soup seemed to be very flavorful.
I did ask a lot of questions about the signs they had on the walls which did leave me questioning the authenticity of the image that was being provided afterwards. There were lots of signs stating all produce organic chemical free farm to table, meat grawas ssfed antibiotic free pasture ranges etc, then there was a sign about the dairy they use and how it is locally sourced barn to table. The sign about the bread said it is preservative free made fresh locally as well. I eat as organic and minimally processed food as possible so I asked what farm their dairy is locally sourced from and the girl kinda looked at me like I had 10 heads and asked if I wanted her to find out I said yes and she came back with they purchase it from US foods which gets their stuff from all over. That answer really made me wonder how much of what they’re selling and claiming to be “super clean” food is actually that. With all these signs all over the facility is quite enticing for someone like me but I know I’m really left wondering if it’s all a gimmick and false advertisement to get more people in the door.
Original review:
So I have ordered from here through Grubhub a few times the first time was amazing and every time since then got gradually worse. The last time I ordered it was late and the food was cold soggy and flavorless so I contacted Grubhub and they handled the situation. Shortly after I got a call from burger village owner that I didn’t contact them instead. He was very angry about it and not pleasant to speak with even after explaining the issues we had a few times prior. Fast forward to tonight i figured I would give them a go again as it’s been about 2 months. Food came in very timely fashion delivery person didn’t follow delivery instructions but that’s beside the point. I got my order and two things were missing. Aside from that the actual food was as good as first time. So I contacted the store directly this time considering the owners issue the last. Spoke to the staff explained I was missing a milkshake and side - mind you they’re not cheap especially the tiny amount of side sauce you get - she said she would have them redelivered. An hour goes by and no delivery no milkshake no side. Go to contact store only to find they are now closed and have been for 30 mins. No machine to even leave a message. This is extremely poor customer service and exactly why I deal with Grubhub because even when I tried to be courteous to the business they still screwed me over. I would say if you’re gonna eat here prob best to go sit down inside. Maybe you’ll have a...
Read moreI'm a longtime customer of Burger Village but recently I was charged for an order I never received. If this issue was resolved in a polite manner or if my emails were answered, I would refrain from posting a negative review, but Burger Village refuses to address the wrongful charge and the appalling behavior of the manager. I ordered delivery via UberEats and when it never arrived, I called the Farmingdale location, where I was informed that a manager had delivered it himself. I told the employee on the phone that the order was not on my property, and the manager, balking in the background, began dictating messages to the employee for me, describing the house at which he left the order, and when I informed the employee that the house he described was not mine, the manager insisted I was "wrong" about what my house looks like. I informed the employee that I would gladly accept a replacement order or store credit, but the manager (still relaying messages in the background) suggested, "just tell her to walk around the block and look for it." At this point the order would have been sitting out in the sun for a long time, and I have an infant and children at home, which I explained to the employee, who relayed this to the manager. Once again the manager, still complaining in the background, dismissively stated that I should "take it up with Uber." Well, I did apply for remuneration from Uber, twice, who informed me that the order was marked as "successfully delivered," and therefore un-reimbursable. Hours later, a neighbor eventually found the order, and it had been left right below their giant house number sign. Funny enough, the manager also insisted at one point that I didn't know my...
