I've been here a total of two times. The first time was several years ago, and I just recently went again a few days ago (August 2021).
I ordered an appetizer, the Tostones with Aguacate (guacamole). That was actually quite good. My mother thought the guacamole was too salty but I enjoyed a lot. We had great drinks as well. I go the Guanabana (Soursop) in milk, and that was great.
For my main dish I ordered the Bandeja Especial de la Casa (House Special Platter). It comes with Rice and Beans and 3 different meats. My favorite part of my meal by far was the rice and beans that came with that order. Truly authentic taste and I could honestly have ate only that. The meats, however is the reason they are getting 4 stars. The waiter asked me if I wanted the steak well done or medium. When I got it, it looked well done anyway. It was a thing piece of steak so there wasn't much room for error In the cooking process but I didn't like it. It was Chewy and I had to struggle a bit more than I would have liked to cut and eat it. The Chicken was too burnt on the outside. The skin wasn't juicy and flavorful, that's often the best part of rotisserie chicken like this. Then in addition to that, the chicken was super dry. I know it was white meat, chicken breast, so I shouldn't have been expecting the juiciest chicken ever but I still think it was too dry. I compared it to the rotisserie chicken I could get from Costco, which was cheaper and much less dry. The only saving grace on the meat platter was the pork. That's really only because it was not bad in comparison. It was good, nothing exceptional. I wish I had stuck with my original decision to get only a pork platter.
Conclusion: Overall decent Columbian experience but would not choose to go here again. Meat was not cooked to my liking. The place was clean and the...
Read moreLet me start by saying that we have been to multiple Colombian restaurants and by far this has been the worst experience my family and I had. The service is horrible, we ordered a bandeja paisa with chicken (grilled chicken) we were told “we can’t do that”, in order to get grilled chicken we had to buy an entire additional order. We said we would pay extra for the grilled chicken and still they didn’t want to give us just the piece of grilled chicken. I asked for extra sauce and the girl seemed offended by this, we also ordered the arepa choclo and it was hard! We had to pay for two orders of food just to get the grilled chicken we wanted because “they can’t do that”. We have never dealt with this situation where you go to a restaurant and the client is denied what they want to order. Horrible experience and will definitely never come back!!! I will let my entire family know of this and we have a very big family that lives...
Read moreABSOLUTELY THE WORST MEAL I EVER HAD. We were the only couple in the place and it took forever for our meal. We had the chorizo and sweet corn cake with cheese for an appetizer. The chorizo was like a burnt hot dog and the sweet corn cake was a pita with cheese. We split the Parrilada, mixed grilled platter for 2. The pork and the chicken were flat and dry. You couldn't tell which was which. They were both like cardboard. Cardboard would have probably tasted better. It came with another horrible chorizo, a fatty tasteless shell steak and some beans and white rice. The only part of the meal that wasn't gross was the rice. Absolutely awful, awful meal. Don't waste your time or money on this place. I gave it one star because you have to to post a review but i think this place deserves...
