Truly a gift for your tastebuds! Mouthwatering, delicious, and artfully plated Thai food; each dish with its own unique flavor and presentation. We tried this, noticing a new restaurant’s sign, and my husband grabbed a menu. We went with our new family to try it, and SO glad we found this 5 star restaurant, in an unassuming shopping center. We ordered several appetizers, to share, and each was different from the next, with sauces individually curated for each dish. I loved the Curry Puffs (almost like empanadas)-warmly seasoned potato and chicken, wrapped in a flaky pastry, with a light cucumber salad to balance the flavors. Chicken Satay- melt in your mouth tender, with a sweet peanut sauce on the side. Kanum Jeb (steamed dumplings) were tasty mouthfuls of seasoned ground chicken with its own unique sauce. Keaw Tod (fried dumplings) were such a light, crunchy surprise-like a potato chip wrapped around herbed chicken with plum sauce. I had Green Curry, vegetables in a coconut milk curry-light and savory, with jasmine rice. My husband had Sautéed Chicken and Broccoli (he’s not a big ‘trier’) in a light brown sauce, tasty. Our in-laws had Yellow Curry with chicken, which had delicious heat, but not overly hot that you couldn’t enjoy the delicate flavors-perfect for colder weather! Spicy Noodles (flat rice noodles) with beef, in a red tomato and chili sauce was outstanding. Each dish came on a plate designed to display it, with delicate garnishes, truly a work of art. (They have crispy duck that looks amazing, as well as whole fish-too many great options, only one stomach!). Joy, our server, was very attentive and gracious, but not overbearing. She knew you needed water, or more napkins, before you had to ask, and was pleasant and funny. The chef, Ken, came out to speak with us as we began our appetizers, and offered to make individual changes to anything we wanted, to suit our taste. He was sociable and explained the nuances of each dish, and how he achieved each flavor. The small restaurant was spotlessly clean ( I could see into the kitchen, when I walked to the restroom-very clean). Beautiful artwork adorned the walls. You would never believe such delectably, wonderful food could be found in this Copiague shopping center-a delightful find! We will go back. PS: we did return, for lunch with our visiting daughter and son-in-law, and it was even better. The soups and salads are amazing. Pad Se-Eaw and Amazing...
Read moreI've never seen a restaurant with this many reviews and averages 5 stars. I had to try it out based on how many people love it. Add another 5 star review to my list, and after two visits to Amazing Thai, it's in my Top 3 places in Long Island, and I would consider it tied for my favorite. The Tom Yum Goong has such great flavor and the right amount of heat. Every bite is exactly what Spicy Shrimp Soup should be. Four entrees have been enjoyed, and each one has been excellent. Not only that, even on the day we didn't order appetizers, we still needed to take leftovers, the portion sizes were so generous. I'm as excited for lunch the next day as I am for dinner that evening. It's a small restaurant, so more of an intimate dining experience. The family who cooks and serves is so nice, and how great is it that remember you from a prior visit, and even remember where you sat the first time? Husband, wife, son run the place, and their cooking is supreme and their friendliness makes you smile as much as their food. Their prices are more than reasonable. Honestly, this is my idea of a perfect restaurant. A perfect dining experience. And of course with Thai food, it's just as suitable for takeout...though I favor the intimate setting. I noticed something else on my visits. Everybody there is happy. The staff, the people who dine there. Everybody is enjoying, whether it's a couple or a large family. This is as it should be with amazing food and friendly staff, and no lengthy waits for food or check. I'll edit my post to recommend dishes once I've...
Read moreYou do not understand the sheer amount of happiness me and my family just experienced discovering that Joy and Ken opened a new restaurant.. we have been speaking about the closure of Thai Angel since 2022 and how much we missed their amazing food and service. If a Michelin guide happened to walk in on a random day, their food would get a star, and I've dined at some of the top restaurants in New York, Europe and Japan.
Upon finding out Joy and Ken were back with this new establishment, the screaming in our home reached a fever pitch! The pineapple fried rice.. Tamarind honey duck.. orange duck.. we couldn't believe it. We went to NYC in search of Thai that even remotely came close and nothing ever did. We just went about eating more mediocre Thai cuisine.
No longer. This artful cuisine, and this family are simply phenomenal. We are going tomorrow and enjoying the rice and duck, thai ice teas.
Thank you so much for opening a new establishment, and I hope they take me up on my suggestion that he needs to write a cookbook!!!!! I...
