Amore Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen - Katonah — Restaurant in Town of Bedford

While my earlier comments are noted below I felt obliged to add this additional comment: My wife and I had lunch at Amore Katonah today the both the grilled vegetable panino and the grilled shrimp wrap were absolutely delicious!!! Seriously, they were fantastic. So clearly Amore Katonah excels at more than just typical pizzeria fare.

My original review is noted below. However, soon after I submitted the review Mark Mazzotta, the owner of Amore Pizzeria, submitted a reply which demonstrated his commitment to addressing customer concerns and he explained that there were still "kinks" to be worked out at the new Katonah location. So I decided to give Amore another try and ordered a Margherita pizza. The bottom line is that it was delicious! I was especially impressed with the freshness of the whole leaf basil and the unexpected sweetness of the San Marzano tomatoes. I'm happy I gave Amore another try and certainly when it comes to pizza I highly recommend it.

Wanting to give the new restaurant a try we ordered an eggplant hero and a chicken parmigiana hero. On the plus side, the sandwiches were made with soft, fresh sesame hero bread. However, the eggplant was much too thickly breaded and the sandwich lacked sufficient sauce so, overall, it was much too dry and difficult to eat. The chicken parmigiana sandwich also lacked sauce, the chicken itself was over cooked and dry and the bread was burnt. The same sandwiches at both The Pizza Station and La Familia locations in Katonah are much tastier. Amore catered our off-site party with approximately 80 guests. Owner Vinnie was helpful in the planning process, talking through different options, asking helpful questions and giving suggestions. At no point in time did he try to "upsell" and convince us we needed more food. On the contrary, we ordered more than he suggested and had more than we needed. He was prompt coming to set up, deliver the food, and to collect chafing dishes, etc at the end of the party. The food was hot and ready when he said it would be and was delicious. We received positive feedback from many of our guests. In the land of exceptional pizza, Amore stands out from among the rest for their creative and delicious pan pizzas, but also the friendliest of staff& owner(s). I’ve been into the storefront with my family multiple times and have always had beyond exceptional service and kindness to our small children. A free cookie or cutting up the pizza for our kids, and always with a smile, has solidified them as our go-to pizza place. We love to be able to support a small business that clearly values their customers, big and small, and family. Also… I would eat their vodkaroni every week if I could. Best pizza I’ve ever had....
