Updated April 19, 2025. Exceptionally fresh and inspired baking, and excellent coffee, too. The products, especially the breads and pastries, are stand-outs compared to many local ābake shopsā that focus on over-decorated celebration cakes.
Now for the serious part: the bread, specifically, their Bedford Sourdough. Hmmmmmm - lovely crispy crust where the tangy yeast jumps through, and the loaf proper - moist and very flavorful. Highly recommended - itās the best bread Iāve tasted so far in over three years on this side of the Atlantic. I lived in London, England for 22 years and I say this bakery is better than Gailās including the Hampstead location near the Northern Line tube. On a par with its larger cousin-in-spirit, E5 Bakery in London Fields, Hackney. Bravo! The regular Bedford sourdough loaves go very well with homemade soups.
The front of house staff provide excellent service especially in their knowledge of ingredients (for people managing blood glucose levels and gluten). They pay close attention when customers are speaking particularly for multiple/part orders! No need to repeat orders - the staff are tuned in!
Update: Mar. 1, 2024. Exceptional corn muffin just out of the oven. It is full of lucious blueberries which pair well with the crispy corn. Iām looking forward to eating their speciality loaf this week: Squirrel Bread, with oats, millet, pumpkin seeds, dates and sunflower seeds.
Update: Feb. 10, 2024. This bakery features a special bread which differs each week. Two weeks ago I enjoyed their oatmeal bread. Today I bought a sourdough variant with turmeric, pepper and poppy seeds. Stay tuned for my updates!
Update Jan 19, 2024. First visit for lunch with a former work colleague who lives in Katonah. Freshly-prepared sandwiches were excellent albeit on the pricey side. See photo update for menu.
Update 3/29/24. Ate buckwheat muffin today accompanying by excellent filter coffee. Lovely, light consistency with slices of fresh pears on top. Highly recommended; see photo.
Update 12/2/23. Iāve had the Drip coffee twice. Often overlooked (or overcooked) in coffee venues, the brew here is delicious. Fresh, good taste with milk, not too hot or reheated. Decent value for medium sized cup at $3.25. Granola muffin today - very fresh with fresh fruit providing a lovely balance to the crispy oats.
Update 10 July 2025. Bakery hiring experienced bread...

Ok it was yesterday at 1pm to be exact. I had a work meeting in Katonah. The person I was meeting with suggested Lmnop Bakery and Cafe. Usha has been singing their praises to me for a while so I was happy for the opportunity to visit.
I was very hungry and I eyed something that looked amazing and I needed something savory. I asked the super kind person behind the counter what it was and she replied⦠āthatās a bialy.ā All of a sudden I was transported to Forest Hills circa 1988⦠the odd year that a 16 year old Colombian/Californian happened to live in NY. My next thought was, āThat doesnāt look like any bialy I have ever seen.
A few minutes later, I was sitting at the most lovely table⦠with a perfect little cortado in front of me and I ripped off a bite. Wow. This bialy was chewy, soft and incredibly aromatic and flavorful. Chewing was like therapy for my teeth. I dipped a little piece into my creamy cortado like I sometimes do with pizza crust. Omg.
Iām not going to get into the details of the next hour, but I will say that one of the owners declared that EVERYTHING they bake is made with whole grain flour. I nearly cried and said, āI can eat here!ā
I brought home a few of their pastries and they were equally delicious, but also so delicate. I already love Katonah. I could make a day of Kelloggās & Lawrence Hardware and The Reading Room alone⦠but now I will be adding LMNOP to the mix.

Located right across from the Katonah train stop, it's the perfect little destination no matter where you're traveling from.
Not only is this place so cute, simple, quaint and filled with locals - the bakery items are absolutely delicious and drool worthy. Though everything here is pretty minimal, they know what they're doing displaying all their delicious baked goods through that glass window. It makes the choices SO hard.
I loved how kind and nice the cashier was, despite there being such a long line and it being so busy on a Sunday, she greeted us with a smile and kindness while helping us make the perfect choice for our afternoon treats.
We ended up going for the orange zest and blood orange icing loaf slice (I wish I remembered the exact name) and the monkey bread. Wow. The monkey bread was out of this world and a pretty decent size! This isn't normally my go to, but my hubby loves cinnamon and soft - it was exactly that. Crispy, flaky, soft and pillowy when you bite into it. SO fresh and delish!
We ended up ordering an unsweetened matcha latte but next time will for sure try their coffee!
Limited seating and space is available, so I wouldn't say it's a good spot for large groups but the line moves pretty fast and it's totally worth it. Also, they're now open on...
