Shogun of Delmar — Restaurant in Town of Bethlehem

We ordered a small delivery on a weekday night. Half an hour past the delivery estimate, I called the restaurant. When I asked for an update on my order (the online update said it was still in preparation), the woman who answered the phone told me that it was on the way to be delivered - without asking for either my name OR my order number. I asked how she could know that, without even asking for my name and she said 'there are no orders waiting for delivery, so it must be on its way'.

Wow.

Next she tried to tell me that my order must be from the Albany restaurant, even when I told her I was looking at my order on my computer as we spoke, and it said "Shogun Delmar". I eventually convinced her to look up my order with my name and order number and got the following replies in rapid order - "we don't have that order number" "we don't have your name" "I'm sure its on the way". What? That makes no sense.

The food did eventually show up an hour and a half after the order was placed.

Folks, this is not the Delmar Shogun of yore, when the food was excellent, and the staff was pleasant, attentive and competent. I would avoid it if I were you. We've placed...

Very disappointed in our service tonight! The food as always was delicious and fresh, but our waiter on the patio was horrible. The young man mixed up our gyoza order with a neighboring table we ordered pork the other shrimp, he "fixed"the issue by snatching the shrimp gyoza off our table leaving the other table our pork ones and the shrimp too. Then he went back in the restaurant never apologized and our appetizer finally arrived with our meal. He never once checked on us throughout our meal nor did he offer to comp our checks the appetizer price for the error!!! I love Shogun. Anyone who says it is not a great place to eat doesn't like Asian food. The sushi is fabulous, the pad thai is amazing, and there are so many offerings to suit so many different people. One of my sons is fairly picky, and he only eats the salmon. But he loves it. The place is very comfortable inside or outside on the patio, and sometimes has nice live music outside. You have little kids and you don't want to be at the restaurant you can certainly call in an order and pick it up, which I know many of my younger friends do.
