I was so excited to be dining here tonight. I was being treated to a birthday dinner by my partner and we had very high hopes for this classy place we had been driving by practically every day for a couple years now. We weren't sure if the dining met our dietary requirements but when we heard they did, we jumped at the opportunity!
We were one of the first people in the door (Mother's day, Sunday evening) after they opened at 4 PM and the restaurant was sparkling! There wasn't a speck of dust anywhere, the booths and tables have been very well maintained and the floors were just as clean and classy as I had hoped.
We were famished and ordered our appetizer right away along with a soft drink for me. We got the spinach artichoke dip.
It took a while to come but let me tell you, it came piping hot! It was creamy, savory and slightly sour from the artichokes. All the chips were uniform in size and so fresh, toasted and crunchy! We were so impressed by the standard of service and attention to detail. Our food came shortly after, we had ordered the lamb over couscous and stuffed chicken breast over a bed of rice in a saffron seasoned sauce. My husband's lamb was shredded, tender and cooked perfectly. Big chunks of Zucchini, carrots, eggplant and other vegetables made for a beautiful and exciting presentation.
My sauce, rice and steamed vegetables were so delicious that I kept going back to them.
Unfortunately our happiness was short-lived. I cut into my chicken and found it to be so incredibly dry that it took my steak knife a few tries to get through. It was not juicy by itself, the sauce was needed to help add moisture to it. The outside had a tough crust to it that I ended up cutting away to eat the inner part that was not as dry (but still very dry).
My husband's lamb was so overloaded with sodium that he requested pita bread to help make it palatable. I really wanted to request for our food to be fixed but we were so tired and so hungry, we couldn't and didn't have the strength to wait for them to be fixed.
Once my husband got towards the bottom of his plate with the help of the bread and avoiding the super salty sauce, he noticed something that looked like the skin of a red potato that ended up being a barcode sticker off of one of the eggplants. I would maybe understand if we had come during a rush that something like this got overlooked, but it was around 4:15 pm when we had ordered our food. The closest to the start of food prep that a patron can be at this restaurant. Also, it's a classy restaurant... How can quality control be so poor? Our total bill was around $90 for two entrees, a soft drink and an appetizer.
Disappointed is an understatement. We had just found a restaurant that had all the potential of...
Read moreI have patronized this establishment since the late 90s. This is when they were exclusively on Brady Street in Milwaukee. NEVER had on issue. Times have changed and at times the crowd at this location can be a bit ghetto fabulous. But service, food and entertainment is still great 😊.
THE REASON FOR REVIEW:BROOKFIELD location RUDE UNORGANIZED and very UNPROFESSIONAL. My son turned 24 on October 21st 2022. He called me on around the 10th of October and asked me to find a great spot for a bday dinner and to be sure they have LAMB (lol) I knew the perfect spot ( Casablanca Brookfield) this would be my 2nd time at this location.
I made reservations around the 14th for a group of 15. Brookfield NEVER answers their phone and online reservation can’t be made with a party this size. So, each time I called, I had to go through BRADY location just to get an answer. 1 day Prior to dinner I had to add 8 more people. Again BRADY street had to handle it over phone.
The day before I received a text confirming, as well as day of, a call confirming we would still be in attendance .
The manager had a worker call back stating with parties of this size they serve family style dinner. After explaining to me what this was, I told them it would have been best to tell me this at time of booking so I could have added a menu to my sons invite. That way, our guest would have known in advance, having an option to join us.
The manager understood sayings “it’s not a busy night” and AGREED to allow us to order separate entrees. Once we arrived, Service was HORRIBLE from start. They had so many tall glasses of water on the table The kids did not need TALL glasses. After 2 spills(lol) I asked them to change the 4 kids out for smaller cups with lids. Which they did.
Here we are a table of 25 ONE inexperienced waitress( bless her heart) she tried to accommodate such a large group!!
We had 5 orders of lamb chops. 4 orders went back literally 3 times!! (Undercooked or overcooked) The manager seemed very Agitated, stating the cook was new and not use to such a large party, is why they usually do family style…🤨🙄.(are we bringing this up again ?)
Here are our pictures from what was supposed to be a beautiful night. My son had a horrible first experience. I don’t think he will ever return. We spent 750 that night. SMH no tip and I ALWAYS tip even when gratuity is added. Y’all have to do better!!
The picture below was supposed to be Medium well no blood. I ended up taking it home and Simmering to perfection! I didn’t get pictures of the other 3 plates. We did get credit for two and my son received a bday Dessert…(thanks for that )
The SECOND picture was my first experience there! Beautiful food 😻 ..
Get that chef back ASAP.. lol and a better phone...
Read moreDuring our stay in Brookfield, we visited this establishment to celebrate my brother-in-law’s birthday. The servers were GREAT!! We were very pleased with the service and all of the servers we associated with there were very sweet. They were absolutely the highlight of our experience! The food was good, but we were very disappointed in management at the establishment. Throughout the night, we ordered hookahs and also multiple drinks, not only for ourselves but for other tables around us as well. We spent close to $300 during our time there, and would’ve continued to spend more than that had we not felt disrespected eventually. It was fairly empty while we were there, so we put in a request to switch the music at least for a little bit if possible. We had two different servers tell us that they would ask the manager to do so. The manager did not fulfill the request, which is whatever, but the fact that she couldn’t even let us know personally or tell the servers that she was unable to do so, was frustrating. All she had to do was acknowledge us and simply let us know. On top of that, when we tried to get her attention politely, she ignored us when it was clear that other servers and bartenders around her could obviously hear us. It seemed like she was more concerned about doing what she could to get people out of the establishment, rather than serving them and trying to be accommodating. We left an hour in advance to closing time. Everybody I was with has also worked in the service industry before, so we understand that there are certain procedures that need to be done before closing and what not, and it would’ve been no problem for us to leave if asked to do so eventually....and if that was the reasoning as to why she didn’t want to change the music, she could’ve just told us that, like I said. It was clear that she just had a sour attitude and especially as a manager, that’s not the type of attitude you should have towards your customers, regardless of what you’ve had to deal with in the past at your job. We did nothing during our experience there to cause her to act that way towards us, and it was very disappointing. We have been to the Casablanca on Brady St. before and we were pleased with that one, so we will most likely only be visiting there from now on. Although we were displeased with the management, I just want to say thank you once again to the amazing servers at this location though! You were greatly...
